Thanks man! I'll report back when it gets installed. I was also considering buying the new TIVO Roamio and adding a cablecard but that can be a bit pricy.

I live in Rosenberg and have att gigapower 100mb service and I really like it.

My friend who lives in sienna just has regular 20mb servic from enough but they seem to be happy.

Fiver to the home is hard to do wrong. Just make sure you are happy with the price and they give you a service guarantee

Oh ok. The reason I ask is because we have a few options. The thing with EnTouch is they don't have a data cap which I like so I'm considering them. I don't think Gigapower has made it to Richmond yet but I'm assuming it will sooner or later if Rosenberg has it.

I did read a few people having issues with EnTouch's gigabit internet, but it's possible that was an neighborhood specific issue. IIRC that person was in Sienna Plantation or Riverstone in Missouri City.

The data cap for gigapower is a terrabyte per month and we have yet to hit it. I think if you have direct TV and att you get unlimited data on your att internet service.

We cut the cord 3 years ago so don't know if that promo is still active.

Oh wow. I had read about that a while back, but I completely forgot. I have AT&T wireless right now and am contemplating getting DirecTV because it would be cheaper for me with the bundled deal they have. I guess data cap isn't really any sort of deal breaker now though after realizing that promo (which still seems active from what I'm reading).

    Thanks for the info!

My buddy just had a house built in Friendswood and got it. Lucky b*stard... well, except for his commute.

I know this an old post, but if anyone is ordering the X1 platform, which I now love, order the self install. If you can't do it yourself they'll send a tech out for free canceling out the $99 set up charge.

I am looking for a house north of Orlando. I really want the FTTH but ATT is absolutely no use in telling me where they have fiber.

Update since I posted in this thread. I'm with AT&T Gigapower 300/300 and Playstation Vue now. No Comcast or cable subscription

We we have it in our neighborhood (around the brazos town center area of rosenberg / richmond. My house is ready for it, but I've enjoyed the X1 with comcast.

I think I'm close to getting at&t gigabit offered (at least with all the fiber I see att working on in my neighborhood). Currently on Spectrum/TWC in Austin area.. No complaints on download (300-400 mbit easy, I am also not sure how/why since supposed to be 300 max, I do run my own equipment. Hit true 45MB/s download recently but hosting sucks (20 mbit up).

For some reason I think at&t in my area is trying to compete with spectrum and Google (I wish Google was here) so no caps..

My kids here use streaming 24/7, YouTube/Netflix/hbogo etc etc I think we hit 1 tb + regularly, I mean kids are in HS so leave the damn Netflix on nightly while sleeping, if were capped I'd fix that quick. I work from home too.

I'm looking at making my own router using pfsense or something similar. Read an article on getting 2 gbit at home using 2 Providers (not doing that but using for vpn at box).

Anyone here try something like that?
