The atmosphere was incredible tonight. It was up there with the 2009 Tech game.

Ok, so Navy needs to lose at ECU in Saturday and at SMU next weekend, and we're in the conference championship, right? And obviously we can't lay an egg in Memphis.

i was really tired last night and asked my suite-mate if i should watch basketball or football, and he was like basketball, it's more fast paced. and i was like sure, makes sense. didn't know what to do, and too tired to really think.
i should have chosen football, i fell asleep during the rockets game yesterday.

It felt like every time Lamar Jackson was out there he was inches from getting sacked or actually getting sacked.

    GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PIRATES!!!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PONIES!!!!!!!!

Still so glad to have not broken an ankle or blow out a knee on that Art Car IPA-induced jump. And glad to have not gotten tackled or tazed or arrested. Credit to the security for protecting and ushering out the teams & football program staff, but still letting the fans have their moment. CSC would've had people in bodybags, but this blue shirt outfit actually circled their backs against the field goal posts so no one would run into it or get shoved into it.

Man I thought the championship game last year was crazy. I thought the OU game was crazy. They were but they were nothing like last night. Last night was insane! The whole stadium absolutely brought it. How many false starts was that? Like 5?!

    How is that possibly disingenuous?

OU was ranked #2 when UH played them. Even now OU is #9.

His OL nearly got him killed last night. Loved that Herman and Orlando didn't dial it back in the 2nd half. Crazy how many coaches will change things up in that situation.

Don't think they will lose to ECU but I can see my Ponies get them the week after. We play better against that triple option nonsense.

we'd be top 5 if we didn't blew those 2 losses.... can't underestimate the weaker teams.

not so much underestimated but moreso they were missing key players in the those games. When UH has all their core guys they are one of the top teams in the nation without a doubt especially defensively. Once you get into the deeper backups that becomes a big problem because they're not at that level you need

Can't underestimate injuries either, depth is an issue but when the starters are out there they can play with anybody not named Alabama. It would be nice if we got to find out if that second part is true. Miracles can happen. Oh and the big 12 still needs to suck a d*ck. I'm a UT grad but would have enjoyed all those teams coming to Houston every year.

Wasn't the SMU loss preceded in that week by the Big 12 snub? I think the whole program was shell shocked after all the hard work to get into a major conference. Which contributed to the bad play against SMU.

Regardless, no excuses. I was at the SMU game and the defense was doing a great job of getting back in it. Unfortunately, the offense was non-existent.

Herman even mentioned that the defense did better against Navy, but the offense wasn't able to get it going. It definitely hurts when you also have Ward throwing a pick-6.

They had key injuries and MAYBE lost their coach to UT all at once.... Last night was a glimpse of the monster we are becoming. Ward has been playing hurt all year and our offensive line hasn't been right either. But, you knew by the end of the year this defense was going to be VERY GOOD+. Well, they've surpassed that. It's a championship defense.THAT is the team that likely would have played for the National Title barring injury. Down the road, we'll have the kind of depth to deal with those kind of injuries, but the schedule will be much harder too. : )

Two more things....Big Ed is going to be a top 3 pick...and the Duke of Truth looked faster..really impressive display.
