Was this game a statement game for us ? In the NBA every team is going to lose games and players/teams will have off nights . How you respond and come back the next game is crucial . Coming back on a back to back and winning in a blowout is impressive . If we can respond like this continuously then I think our record could be very good this year . Our team has been getting better game to game . We are *knock on wood* healthy so far and are getting Beverley and possibly DMO back . This win shows we've got heart and resolve . This is a good sign
It was a solid win but let's be real. Good teams don't lose games like last night. Especially being up 15 late.
This team is totally different from last year. I was expecting this type of effort last year after they fired Mchale.
I remember last year, when Rockets got a "statement" win against the Blazers, we thought the Rockets turned the corner after that, the corner lead into a cul-de-sac. Need a larger sample size. Better teams on the horizon.
They do all the time. Cleveland and Clippers lost to teams that they shouldn't have the other day. That was the first time the season that they looked like last year to end the game. But they came out tonight looking good. They still need a player to clog up the inside but they have been a decent team. And when it's good they go from being up 10 to 20 and James not needing to play 35+ minutes which is always a plus.
This offense is so much more fun to watch than last year. I kept wanting to hurl when I watched them last year, but this team has done a 180 and looks more polished on offense. Defense be damned!
It was a bad loss considering their late lead, but OKC is a tough place to play and they do have a superstar player. Needs to be taken into account, wasn't like the blown lead was to the 76ers at home or something. Tonight was a nice bounce back against a solid team and the Rockets should feel good about that.
Blazers haven't beat a team that's over .500 this year, they're the Blazers everyone thought they'd be prior to last season - not good.
Lots of strange teams can happen when the other team has a star player. They are called stars for a reason. I bet no one thought that Spurs would lose to Rockets on T-Mac's 13 in 35 or that the Warriors would lose up 3-1 or that the Clippers would totally melt down against Josh Smith and Corey Brewer. **** can happen in a sports where a single player can take over the game.
I'll have to wait until after the Utah game. They will be tough after losing 2 tough games and I want to see how the Rockets respond to this great defensive team. I'll give credit for beating the Blazers though.
Come on... I hate hearing things like this. "Good teams don't lose games like this." Yes... yes they do during a given point in any season. That's like saying "Good teams don't lose games like that." For Golden State when they were blown out at home against the Spurs opening night in their own arena. Even good teams find bad ways to lose a game at some point in a season. Do I believe we are going to be a top 4 seed... no. 5-6 is my guess. I just hate hearing that statement of how good teams don't lose games like that. This was a big win for us. I'm excited moving forward.
I love this gif!!! Only Harden can pull off the "Fluffy Dice" hand bracelet!!! ....... ....... .......
I will not say silly things like, "hey they're the Blazers ya'll" That is a pretty talented team they trotted out last night. It was a very solid win over a solid team. A building block. Utah falls directly into that same category.
