I disagree. I believe if the debate were reopened on the basis of the word marriage being corrupted and that civil unions would be enough and that the decision would be state by state, a lot of people would be on board overturning it. The tide was with progressives with Obama but it has turned and conservatism is on the rebound and the youth, I think, will find they were not sufficiently informed of both sides of the argument for many issues.
You disagree but even conservatives don't care man. The argument is a pretty simple one. America is NOT a country ruled by any religion so the bounds to ban Gay Marriage doesn't apply. In order for it to be banned you'd have to ignore that whole separation of church and state thing. The only argument for banning it is "I am a hardcore Christian and I want to force my views and my religion on the nation." yeah...that's pretty much as anti-american and is closer to how ISIS would rule a state. I think most people realize "Why do I care what Bob and Jimmy do within the comfort of their homes any ways?" Sorry Dei, that ship has sailed. I know you have fantasies of dragging the country back to the 50s socially but that ain't happening. Young people? Well, this is how the country voted from 18-25... You're right, GOP has some work to do in changing the minds of young voters. Attacking LGBT rights is probably not a good way to go at it though.
After listening to how idiotic some of these kids protesting sound ,they probably should raise the voting age to at least 25
I actually watched 60 minutes last night and it was pretty good. If you did not see it you really should take the time to watch it.
I live about a quarter mile from where that pic was taken and there are other exits to the hospital about a quarter mile each direction.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! America IS very conservative. Ask anyone from Europe. Liberals here would be mainstream or conservative there. On social matters, we are still very Victorian. This is why Trump won. Policies have been adopted that did underestimate how conservative America actually is, and he capitalized on that. Ironic, given that is not that conservative. Which will give him an interesting dance to do while governing. He isn't even fiscally conservative, being in favor of large government expenditures on infrastructure, for example, and for propping up SS, Medicaid, and Medicare. I'm ok with all of that...IF he can put forward programs that can pay for it. The problem isn't in having such safety nets, the problem is that they are looking to put us tens of trillions of dollars in the red.
Deckard, Clinton lost -- more than Trump won -- because she is truly the pathological liar. She told so many whoppers -- and then changed them daily -- she couldn't keep track of them. However, everyone knows both candidates were deeply flawed so let's calm down, sit back and see how Trump governs. I grew up with a parental adage: "Don't holler til you're hurt." If Trump does a terrible job, then get out in the streets to protest. If he does a great job, you will be glad you didn't get a leader like Hillary who would sell off pieces of America to the highest bidder.
Well that's because many countries in Europe are very Liberal so yes by comparison. If you keep it relevant to American politics though, no. It isn't. The idea that it is very conservative is contradictory to the idea that the country is very divided, if you believe the country is divided then you then can't say "Well obviously the country is conservative or liberal." since if it were strongly one way or another then there wouldn't be much argument for anything. I think it is issue by issue, there are many issues where Americans are more liberal and more conservative. Trump won because a few reasons but more people voted against him than for him. So I think we need to slow down on the idea that the country is ready and eager for whatever the GOP plans to enforce on the nation. Going in viewed unfavorably I think it would be very unwise to not check the pulse of a nation. His job isn't just to appease Republicans and say 'Too bad too sad!' to everyone else.
Watched the interview last night and I've decided to approach the next 4 years with an open mind. This isn't the first time "my" candidate lost an election and it won't be the last. I've never voted for Obama, but ended up supported him more than I thought I would over the last 8 years depending on the issue (although I'm still pissed about that whole Space Shuttle thing...). I voted for Bush twice but ended up questioning him a lot after no WMDs were found and his awful response to Katrina. I knew Trump would tone it way down if he won and so far that's how it's looking. I guess I've always had more of a problem with Trump's idiotic supporters than Trump himself, if that makes sense. Mainly because I have no idea how he's going to actually govern. I don't think he's going to govern the same way he campaigned.
No and f*** you for suggesting that I do. 1st Amendment only when it fits your piece of sh**, pea sized brain narrative? Posts like this only make more donate more money and time to my local Democrat Party.
you just justified this type of behavior , unbelievable... even the level headed, open minded folks, are being impacted so severely and that's a shame. i guess true colors come out when things are at their worst. if bernie supporters did this or god forbid trump supporters all of you "enablers" who are looking the other way right now would be losing your ****.
I accept the results. He won. "Sit down and shut up" is not telling me to accept the winner. If anything, it's telling me to do more. What would your reaction be had Hillary won, there were protests and those calling it a rigged election (you know, like you and your friends have been doing for months under the assumption that you were going to lose...even though none of us on the left are calling it rigged now) and we told you to "sit down and shut up"? Is that what you'd do?
Donate all you want, your commie party is in complete shambles. Have you been paying attention? My people have not only the executive branch but everything after that down to your local officials. Decent American like myself are totally fed up with your king and his minions destroying our country for the past 8 years. This election is a referendum on your king. The way I see it, you don't have much of a choice, you can either take it like the way my people been taking it the last 8 years, go sob like a little girl in your safe little corner or take it streets like a lot of your degenerate comrades are doing. Good luck and God speed!
Yeah... 1. Other European countries have cautioned USA about their alliance and what is expected of them, not to let Russia do whatever the F it wants to do. If Russia gets aggressive then our alliances will be tested. I'm not sure how anyone thinks this is a good thing. I find it odd that conservatives are ready and willing to bow before Russia and let it do whatever it wants. 2. Eh 3. Another eh, that can change quickly. 4. I don't know about Canada, but Mexcio said that "We think it is an opportunity to think if we should modernize it, not renegotiate it." and other similar statements. Sounds like they are open to listening to what he has to say and nothing more. All in all things like this are the problem. People get their news from little facebook blurbs like this with no context.
