He is trade filler as an expiring next year, at best....we need his salary to get a player we want.....he is 100% a waste of a roster spot. Thanks DM for bidding against yourself... DD
Here is the answer to your confusion: results matter. I don't give a flying crap that he brings it every game or goes balls-out if that doesn't translate to results. More often than not, he is complete garbage and deadweight. It's amazing he gets as much PT as he does simply by being a veteran.
I really think there's something more going on about Brew...maybe off court issues, maybe he already knows he's going to be traded, don't know, but it's not only that he's playing like ****, it also seems like he has literally no fire in him anymore...to me it does look a bit strange.
http://www.espn.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/3191/corey-brewer 1 assist, block and steal...3 personal fouls....0/3, 0/November actually. 31% FG in November. What is the ****ing deal? This is worse than Carlos Gomez' horrifying last couple weeks with the Astros. This has been a season plus of not-just-bad, mind numbingly awful play. He isn't just missing shots, he's clanging the rim so hard paint is chipping off. He may actually be denting the rim, ****. He passed up shots for contested plays because he knows he can't make them. The guy is broken, I'm sorry to say it but he is. He doesn't just need benching, he needs a hiatus. A sabbatical lol **** some time away from the game to regroup. Unleash KJ. Unleash Dekker. Unleash Harrel. MDA, have mercy on him. Mercy killing **** me don't stick him out there when HE knows he's failing. And yes, Anderson needs to stop being a vasheen and shoot with some big huevos, 1-fer whatever. Pfff.
Is brewer going through some personal ****? The guy does not look like he enjoys playing basketball right now. Doesn't help he can't hit a shot
i think if we just stick with it and keep playing him and starting him he will eventually come around and start making a full 1/3 of his shots. in the end it will all be worth it
Watching the TV coverage at half time, noticed Brewer was the last one out to practice shooting before the start of the 3rd. Found that quite strange given how poor his shooting has been. I'm used to seeing guys with poor shooting form come out early at the half to throw some to try and warm up.
He is a scrub who is also in a slump. It happens. It doesn't have to mean that he has some personal problems.
This is three defensive possessions in a row. He's playing nearly perfect team defense here. First possession he chases correctly by going under a pick. And then that second possession, watch him step around LMA's pick. Using Chris Paul as an example, defensive coaches try hard to teach people to get around a pick like that by stretching your pick-side leg (inside leg) around the picker first. Most players try to turn and go around with their outside leg first, allow the picker to impede them more.
Brewer has to be the most prolific bad shooter in NBA history now. People used to make fun of Antoine walker for shooting a ton of threes at a mediocre percentage, but brewer is next level bad as a shooter. It shocks me that harden still passes to him.
I actually appreciate the counter point you're trying to provide but we're so far beyond measurable impacts like statistics, +/-, etc. we're talking about how well he steps around picks. Lol...
But that is a pretty big thing, considering how most of the Rockets can't get around picks at all defensively.
I really wish he could do this again at some point: How can a guy decline like this, it's beyond comprehension.
