Trump won because the mainstream media (who he constantly bashed along the way) gave him unlimited coverage and created almost a cult of personality that couldn't be penetrated with any scandal or misjudgment. On top of that, he conned the rust belt into believing that he's going to bring manufacturing back to their states when that is impossible to do in 2016. And the cherry on top that finished this baby off was that Hillary Clinton was a terrible candidate who was a direct example of the establishment that Trump ran on ousting.

PC culture had nothing to do with it, but that won't stop the OP from being an ignorant, arrogant buffoon.

Nah, there will still be political correctness, if anything people are more fired up about it. They are convinced that half of the country are racists after all so it's probably going to get worse.

I think it's sick too... but apparently, a good chunk of the ~50 million people who voted for Donald had little issue pretending he doesn't think or act like that still. Excusing it as something that happened 20 years ago, and to suggest that it isn't still happening today is more than a little naive. Apparently, "locker room talk" is totally acceptable again. Maybe he'll issue an executive order to re-instate Harvard's soccer team from their ban for openly rating the school's female soccer players based on their bodies. When we disagree with women, should we just tell them to stop being so "emotional" or maybe just blame the fact that they challenge our opinions in the first place on their menstrual cycles? Unfortunately, a sad outcome of this election is that it validated much of the tenor of that ugly fake masculinity... if you don't know that there are many women out there who feel considerably less safe going forward, it may be an indicator that you run in small circles.

Like I said, this election wasn't about facts or policy but emotions and feelings. Scary in my opinion but this is where we are at.

Trump did a better job of demonizing Hillary than Hillary did demonizing Trump.

Trump should have been enough of choice to vote for Clinton unless you believe in a shady and maybe not as wealthy as he claims businessman. Trump got by without releasing his tax returns because facts and policy didn't matter.

It was tasteless in what he said, and any man that views or regards women in only a sexual way is as bad as Trump.

Clinton should have never tried to demonize Trump. Well not never, but she spent so much energy trying to make him look bad she never explained why she would be good. Her campaign started to become "You simply can't vote for him." and people accepted that...and wrote in Harambe and voted for Johnson and didn't vote for her either.

Sherrod Brown should have been her VP pick or Warren and she should have tried to excite those on the left. Yes her policy was pretty liberal, it's sad many liberals thought that her and Trump weren't different enough...but she was terrible at telling people WHY they should vote for her.

The environmentalist never heard the message they were waiting for, she barely mentioned her college education plan which is something young voters would have probably got behind, and she let people fall into the trap that they were both just horrible candidates and equal. She never really sold to people why they should vote for her. It was just basically. "Don't vote for Trump because he's racist, sexist, etc etc." she had plenty of people to do that for her so she should have focused on the hope part of her message.

this is exactly it to. a. T. the only ones that complain about "pc culture" are angry white conservatives who feel their place in this country is being taken away from them by uncontrollable outside forces. the real reason is exactly what Anticope state above - cult of personality, promises that likely can't be delivered upon just like every other politician before him, and the most establishment-rooted candidate in modern politics.

Also you remember what Melania's will focus on? Bullying.

You know the kind of bullying right? The kind of bullying of calling ANYONE racist but ignoring the actual racist that said the racist thing. Don't call people that, that's bullying.

Clinton was impeached because he lied about his relationship with Lewinsky. Had he come (no pun intended, lol) cleaned, he might have escaped impeachment. Btw, dude had a dubious choice for women.

I did and I stand by my statement. As the famous quote from Newsroom goes, "if democrats are so smart then why do they lose so often".

Why? The GOP is just better at getting in the mud to win.

The way I see it, and its my opinion, is that Trump took a page strait out of the liberal playbook and made as much noise as he could. The squeeky wheel got the grease... but this time it wasn't a liberal tactic.
