What the f*** has dunking to do with dominating. I dont care if he dunks, farts or hangs around at a krispy kreme franchise.

All I need from him is a solid performance night in, night out. Huh, huh, dunking is so cool. I prefer the perfect j.

And I also don't give a damn if Divac is jerking his gorilla or not. Thats so boring, the same lame comments over and over again.

If Yao dunked more he'd get some people saying why don't you grow one more foot and dunk without jumping.

And if Steve Francis lead the team in assists last year, there would be people saying he needs to pass more...

    Oh wait...

Hehe...anyone still remember Yao's debut in Dallas against the Mavs where he scored 30 points? In the opening play, Stevie penetrated the Mavs defense, fed the ball to Yao for a one-handed dunk over the 7'6" Shawn Bradley. :D

Piston's big Ben also got dunked by Yao on a one-on-one play. Big Ben although is smaller in size as a center, but he's the 2-time NBA defensive player of the year. He's one of the most intensified players. Yao overpowered him and dunked right on his face. I still have that clip stored in my computer.

probably because the opposition now isn't sawed off at the knees and it's harder to get position with the bodies flying around the paint.

    2pts is 2pts

its only the preseason. I'm sure if it was a game that really mattered Yao would throw it down their grill or if they start pulling a Shawn Kemp and start clawing at him. Yao doesnt like that....

yeah Steve drove down the paint ,then flipped a no look to Yao and Yao just tomahawks it in Bradley's face.

but the detroit one was my favorite. Yao gets the ball on the left side of the paint he backs down Wallace , turns and BAM ...in your face Big Ben. I SAW that game and he piston fans were like awww:eek: I swear if it were in Houston the place would have rockin.

I watched all preseason games and I don't recall a single time where Yao would lay it up softly if he could dunk. He's learned!

    Rhad,
I've watched all the preseason games and so far this year it isn't looking like Yao is laying it up that much anymore. He's had several dunks, and unlike last year it looks like if he has the chance, he'll go for it. Just from the few minutes he's played so far, you can already tell how much stronger and dominating he is. The last two games he played against two all-star centers and dominated them both times. I don't subscribe to the Griffin "give him time" routine, but Yao IS learning and he IS getting better. This is gonna be one heck of a year. Western Conference Finals, baby!!! :)

I agree. He is getting better. However, it is weird to see the slight reversion to playing tentatively when he comes back the NBA after being so overpowering in the Asian games. I thought he would come back with a bit more attitude. Anyhow, I think he'll be great this year.

Looks like Yao can honestly throw it down without jumping at all...
