This is pretty much what I'm expecting too. Trump isn't going to implement all his crazy batshit ideas at once.

Yes, I certain can understand why a candidate's quote might just rub you the wrong way. Kinda like when HRC she landed "under sniper fire" during a 1996 trip to Bosnia ...

Mexico could be made to pay for the wall by the US stopping any foreign aid to Mexico, as well as imposing a hefty tax on all cash remittances going to Mexico.

Which would only increase the amount of people trying to get into the U.S. because things would be worse in Mexico. They would be flooding over the borders, and overtax and drain the resources already dedicated to Border security.

A wall, properly done, with ground penetrating protection and surveillance, will stop that cold.

Mexico will be forced to improve conditions in their own country.

There's still air and nautical routes and a lot of border to cover. Mexicans will also likely adapt and find ways over or under the wall.

And we're a big cause of their problems whether we want to admit it or not. Drugs are coming in from there and will continue to come over even with a wall in place because of the high demand. That drug money is funding drug cartels, which is really hampering Mexico.

There's actually a way that a wall system could work if you wanted it to. I mean, if nothing else, it makes it more difficult than it currently is. If you bought up all of the land within a mile of the border and created a double wall system with a road spanning the border to speed border patrol response and sensors to detect tunneling and motion then you could damn near eliminate all illegal border crossings by foot.

Now personally, I wouldn't want to pay for that so I'm not really suggesting doing it, I'm just saying that it could easily be done.

I was joking with people last night at the Democratic election party in Minneapolis that if they come to deport me I will tell him that me and my people are really good at building walls.

    UK. Now name your 5.

Yea well is that surprising that a black president would stir up the pot?

Isn't Trump merely a good speaker and salesman? He got away with not releasing his tax returns so we will never know how rich or charitable he truly is to corroborate how good of a businessman he truly is.

I suppose it is "each to his own" as Clinton embellishing an event to make her look more rugged is not equal to saying although you have zero knowledge of military affairs, you know more than those who do. One of those statements has the ability to affect foreign policy and cost lives.

Illegal immigration stems from the employers and the conditions in Mexico. Hard to hire illegals when there are actual consequences and fines and illegals don't have as much of reason to leave a place embroiled in a narco-war if our drug policy wasn't so inherently stupid.

Doesn't he HAVE to build it to save face? It was a major selling point of his campaign. His next opponent will destroy him if he doesn't build it.

I'm curious how the generals view him since he claims to know more than them. Interesting times....

A wall is the dumbest idea... ever. Get over it, it isn't going to happen.

Slave labor would be the only way to build the wall. Trump is probably looking at pardoning non-violent life imprisoned people there for other reasons (drug possession / distribution) to agree to work on the wall along with illegal aliens caught red-handed. Easily a population of couple million people that would build such a wall. He's probably going to model it after the Great Wall of China but with a full tang that goes a couple hundred feet underground?

I can't think of one reason why anyone would think our relationship with the U.K. Has improved during the Obama administration.

I would have gone with Iran if I were you.

It is surprising to me that our president would increase racial tensions yes.

Trump will no longer be judged on his business acumen, he will be judged on his ability to lead and govern.

Perhaps you need to learn more about our allies.

...so you can't name 5 other countries?

Why? There has been considerable effort spent trying to convince folks Obama is not "one of us". A black president with a foreign sounding name and you were surprised certain folks reacted this way?

That's correct. We will see how well his "business acumen" or whatever translates.

but that wall won't be paid for by Mexico. It doesn't work in places where ranches span both sides of the border.

I like how Obama who spoke less about race than previous white Presidents is somehow the one responsible for increasing racial tensions. HAHAHA.
    http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2012/09/fear-of-a-black-president/309064/
The racial tensions were increased by people who didn't like a black president, and lack of progress in eradicating prejudice from our justice system and other areas of society.
