Rockets Officially Sign Miller

    Oct. 16, 2003 - The Houston Rockets have signed forward Anthony “Pig” Miller, general manager Carroll Dawson announced today. The 6-9, 255-pound forward, who will be making his fourth stint with the Rockets, has averaged 2.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in 179 career NBA games.
    This past season Miller averaged 12.6 points and 9.8 rebounds in 20 games with the Yakima Sun Kings of the Continental Basketball Association. In the 2003 CBA Playoffs, he averaged 11.6 points (on .533 shooting) with a league-leading 12.6 rebounds in five games to help Yakima win the CBA Championship.

    Miller has played seven NBA seasons with the LA Lakers, Houston, Atlanta and Philadelphia. In 65 games with Houston, he has averaged 3.1 points and 3.6 rebounds. During the 1999-2000 season, Miller averaged 3.7 points and a career-high 4.7 rebounds in 35 games with the Rockets. As an NBA rookie, the Michigan State graduate averaged a career-high 4.1 points and 3.3 rebounds with the LA Lakers.

    Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

    I think Pig was signed because the rockets will CUT griffin. I said griffin wasnt going to practice anymore ever with us,then moments later we sign Pig. Coincidence?

    We were going to sign Pigster anyway, until he tore his hamstring, right? At least he gets a shot now, albeit under the frikkin' dumbest circumstances I can think of.

    do you really have to be an insider to figure that one out? the rockets sign pig miller every 2 years or so; it's like predicting the sun will come up.

    I hope the "PIG" is fit but I don't want to see him get more than a 10 day contract for now.

    The Yao-Cato inside Combo works great for me. With MoT and Amaechi as immediate backups we may not have much use for Pig and EddieG.

    Have you ever seen a pig !! No I'm serious.. Hopefully we will give him a 6 yr 60 million dollar contract... Sounds like something we would do.. Pig Miller is exactly that, A PIG !!!!!!!
