First 5 games of the season: 40 points (17-27 shooting) 32 points (12-28 shooting) 33 points (13-23 shooting) 40 points (14-23 shooting) 34 points (14-26 shooting) Averaging 35.8 ppg, 34.95 PER Team record: 4-1
Pretty impressive he is doing all this without a 3 point shot. If he could develop some kind of 3 point shot ( even 34%), he would be even deadlier.
i guess let's get straight to the point. will Toronto let go of him in exchange for nba superstar heartthrob sensation Brewer?
I feel like almost all defensive schemes nowadays are designed to funnel three pointers into drives at the rim. An elite midrange game is literally unstoppable.
Wow Derozan really justifying the trust the Raptors put in him. When he signed his contract lots of people said Toronto was overpaying and Derozan wasn't worth the max.
He's taken his game to another level. I mistaken a litlte, I knew he was a good SG for today's game, but he was nowhere near the SGs of the 2000s (Kobe, Vince, AI, T-MAC, Ginobili, Stackhouse, Allen). I watch two Raps games. I'm not saying he is as good as or better than those players, but he's really improved his game over the last 2-3.His midrange is pretty good, now.
Good news. Though 10 FGA is still quite pitiful for his talent. If I was a player I would hate playing with Derozan.
DeRozan is a very good player. The problem with him is that he thinks he is much better than what he actually is. You can call it ego, or being dellusional. That results in constantly trying to be the hero for his team and subsequently becoming a blackhole who ignores his teammates. Not because he is a selfish douchebag, but because he genuinely believes that is the best way to win games.
