Actually, I just saw another tweet or article about all this....OKC has that money under the cap? Strange to me, but I guess after Durant bolted, their cap space opened up, and these new deals just handed out maybe don't kick in.

But their roster is still a little overloaded at the 4/5.

    FIFY.

By Christmas and December it will be too late for a s+T LMAO

Matching a full guaranteed contract? That's what DMo wants.

SnT isn't an option anymore, right? Also the Ilyasova TPE supposedly expires on January 12, 2017.

If Motiejunas signs, he can't be traded for 3 months, correct? He would need to do so within two weeks to be eligible to be traded by the February deadline.

    CBA FAQ #91
The trade must be completed prior to the first game of the regular season (sign-and-trades are not allowed once the season begins).

    CBAFAQ #100
For three months or until January 15 of that season (whichever is later) after re-signing a free agent with Larry Bird or Early Bird rights, if the team is over the cap, the player's new salary is above the minimum, and he receives a raise greater than 20%.

Jones is already catching DNP-CD's in New Orleans due to being a terrible basketball player, that discussion ended a LONG time ago.

Grant is a sf/pf and Lauvergne shoudln't even count in this equation. OKC cleared capspace with the Ersan trade as far I know.

Top 5 highest paid players oversees right now:
    1.Alexey Shved Khimki 3,400,000
    2.Rudy Fernandez Real Madrid 2,800,000
    3.Joel Freeland CSKA Moscow 2,700,000
    4.Vasilis Spanoulis Olympiacos 2,600,000
    5. Nenad Krstic Anadolu Efes 2,500,000

So $7M is more than double what the #1 highest paid dude oversees is getting paid right now. How is playing oversees leverage, BJ? How?

Just do it D-Mo. Stop being a dumb ass.

Nov. 23 is an unofficial deadline for Houston to strike a deal with Donatas Motiejunas, since he's ineligible to be traded after that date.

Makes one wonder who exactly is the source of the initial leak. Could be coming from both sides right now to speed things up.
Someone a good as Stein ofc would have checked both before writing this.

The worst thing for DMo at this point is to sign a multi-year contract with only 1-year guaranteed. He and his agent should put their ego aside and find a team to sign a small 1-year contract, so he can prove his worth and become an UFA next year. He really should've taken that $4.4mil qualifying offer.

Hmmm I wouldn't think OKC would do that, there history says differently. 3 years fully guaranteed, would be a tough call.

I might let him walk, I don't believe that Detroit just made up stuff about his back like D-MO says they did. Detroit can use him now.

Yes, but they wanted Grant so you've to count him, Lauvergne maybe not, we don't know, Kanter yes though. And what about cap space? How much do they have as today for next summer after they resigned Adams and Oladipo? Not sure if/how much sign D.Mo would cost them.

The logic behind that if he does it is that he will prove he's healthy for one year (by playing way less games against inferior competition) and reenter RFA next year.

Sure, but he'd also get to be closer to home. That factors in too. Also, he stands to make millions no matter what.
