http://www.statesman.com/sports/content/sports/bohls/1003/101603.html Check this article out. He rips Mack Brown bad. Real bad.
Guess Bohls want Brown out, since this type of article will hurt recruiting. here's what's being said in Austin's own paper The Statesman SUCKS anyway.
He only speaks the truth, and as a columnist it is his job to sell papers... Good read...and right on the money. DD
Kirk Bohls has turned down multiple job offers with bigger papers to stay with the Statesman. The guy isn't afraid to speak his mind. He's not a hired gun like Way or Little, who are paid to write up fluff pieces and to support Mack. Bohls' job is to sell newspapers. Mack's job is to win football games. If Mack doesn't want articles like this in the local paper, then maybe he shouldn't lose to Arkansas at home. Maybe he shouldn't get slaughtered on national TV to our biggest rival. And maybe he should spend less time calling season ticket holders who speak their mind to the NYT. The best way to avoid embarassing articles like this is to not lose 65-13. Just win, baby.
I've heard criticism of media, including Bohls, in the past for not attacking Mack enough. Obviously, that has changed now. Bohls is only echoing a sentiment shared by many UT fans. The four years of losing to OU can only hurt UT in recruiting.
Joe F'ing Jamail is in favor of giving Brown a raise. If I had a couple of million in the bank, Mack would be begging for spare change on Guadalupe right now.
Is it just me, or has anybody else, especially other longhorns, though of something like this? if we cut Mack Brown's earnings in half, and gave it back to the university, then the university wouldn't have to drain every last bleeding cent from my dying/almost lifeless body?
http://www.kvue.com/sports/ut/101703kvue-horns-sc.1007c4a2.html AGAIN, and this time on local television. Hmm, first local newspapers, now local TV, what's next. Wait till we lose another game or two.
From ESPN Insider's Big 12 midseason review: Texas Decisive losses to Arkansas and Oklahoma have knocked a senior-laden Longhorn team out of national title contention and have folks in Austin wondering if Coach Mack Brown will ever get it done. Halfback Cedric Benson has looked average, receivers Roy Williams and B.J. Johnson are underutilized and the defense looks confused and easily worn down. Good news? Basketball season starts Saturday at a school that sent teams to both Final Fours last year. Midseason MVP: Vince Young Junior linebacker Derrick Johnson has been the team's best and most consistent player. But if the true value of an MVP is how much he influences his team's success the Longhorns' has to be quarterback Vince Young. His explosive play gave the Longhorns a chance against the Sooners. His turnovers took it away. Not bad for a redshirt freshman who makes his first start Saturday at Iowa State. What's next The same old same old. Texas' Groundhog Day continues with usual post-Oklahoma debacle vows -- bouncing back, running the table and trying to backdoor their way into the Big 12 title picture. But the souped up Tech offense, which the Longhorns couldn't stop last year, and a road trip to balanced Oklahoma State await. Alamo Bowl, anyone?
Sure, but then the University will drain every last bleeding cent from your dying/almost lifeless body just for fun.
and of ALL people to defend Mack, Herbstriet has been critical of UT fans for the way Mack is treated. Then again, he just wants Mack to stay another week plus so the Huskers can have a chance next week.
Kirk rarely badmouths coaches. He visits all the programs, so it wouldn't be in his best interest to do that. While with May and Alberts, they sit behind their desk and can diss everyone they want.
Herbstreit went to Ohio State. Alberts is the NU guy. Herbstreit is never critical. Alberts is a __________.
This so wrong. The only people still wondering if Brown can get it done are the not-connected-with-reality optimists, and the people still tramautized by the McWilliams and Mackovic years(I'm not including Akers, because Akers > Brown). He can't get it done, it's just not in his nature. Fire him, hire Venables or Miles.
The way that Bohls guy writes, well in that article, makes me think he went to the same school of journalism as Houston's very own Fran "Bandwagon" Blinebury.
