It actually takes a tad more "homerism" than a pbp guy... to be in the same radio market for 25 years, talking about the same franchises (through multiple different eras) on a daily basis. See the above post on some of his previous stints in regards to pbp and being associated with the team. The only reason he wouldn't do it is perhaps he likes talking about these teams on a daily basis with fans, or he likes talking about more than just one sport, rather than going through the somewhat mundane/tedious task of calling a baseball game 6 out of 7 days (on average) for around 6 months.
CP may not be challenged enough to be a color commentary guy. He grew on me over the years with his ability to disagree with people, yet provide a good argument as to why. Frankly, I hope that he lands on his feet in a market that is willing to have a decent radio guy.
Nobody is happier about this news than Mrs. Morales. Workplace sexual harassment is terrible, especially on air.
