ESPN 2's Cold Pizza. Those commercials are so friggin' annoying. Here's a mention of it: LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - ESPN is getting into the morning-show business. The cable sports giant is developing a two-hour show, called "Cold Pizza," for ESPN2. The series, targeted for fall 2003, will ape the format of the network morning shows, but with a focus on sports, according to ESPN's executive vice president for programming, Mark Shapiro. "Think ['Good Morning America'], think sports, think fans, think fashion," Shapiro tells The Hollywood Reporter. He made the announcement at ESPN's annual upfront presentation to advertisers in New York. Think puke, think lame tv, think off button. No thanks.
Yeah, I have seen a ton of those stupid Cold Pizza commercials. "Here's Kit, she's wild and unpredictable" Whatever! This thing has to flop! I mean, who is the target audience for this show? It looks more targeted towards women than men.
Atleast they could have gotten some hot chicks to be on the show (Melissa Starks???) I agree, I have no clue what kind of audience they are trying to get. It better not take the time slot of the first sportscenter in the morning.
Faos, Dude, you are my new hero! Thanks so much for bringing this up. I have been highly annoyed with all those stupid commercials. First of all, the name of the show is incredibly stupid in "Cold Pizza"...WTF? Do they think everybody eats cold pizza for breakfast?? That Kit girl looks like a Lisa Rinna wannabe and I like how they keep focusing on her as the others, you barely see commercials about it ("Meet Leslie...she was a hurdler and she now hurdles her way onto morning TV!" or whatever the dumb narrator says). Hopefully, this show won't last long at all.
The show is a great idea, if it was just an extended version of Sports Reporters, with a little pop culture thrown in. But what in the world are the qualifcations of these people to host a two hour variety show on a SPORTS channel?
Doesn't Sportscenter come on at the same time on ESPN anyway? Who's going to watch this? (obviously no one on this board, but...)
My morning tv consists of Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, etc. I click through them until I find something that fits my breakfast mood.
My thoughts as well. If it was more like a Sports Reporters type of show (with Pop culture thrown in - think the Tony Cornheiser Radio Show) then they may have something. But what they look like they are promoting now is "The View" with sports subjects. Enough!
MTV used to be all music and very little shows, and now it is opposite. ESPN is just the same, I like the show Playmakers and all but in one night they show the previous weeks show, then the new one like 3 freagin' times in a row. What the hell is that???
there's a first SC in the morning? don't they just show a repeat of the 1am SC from 4-12? unless you were being sarcastic.
Well, did anyone watch? I just tuned in (thus breaking my promise not to watch) to see a pizza eating contest between some fat slobs. Judging from the 3 minutes of the show that I did see, it's a little to high energy for me. This is a TV show I won't watch ever AGAIN....really.
I missed it, but is it really Kit from Road Rules? She was hot on RR. I might have to try to check it out.
