If there was any recent rocket player who we needed to keep- Sam I am Cassel. The alien is a single handed bandit- witness tonights OT tie to push for the win (lose or not). What I would give for Sam I Am in our guard line up....

Cassel and Francis with Mobley and Moochie backing them up. Shandon would play the three and Walt would back him up. That would be sweet.

Eliminate Walt from that fantasy and you've got a good one!

    Several laments:

    1. It is: Cassell

    2. Sam leads the Bucks (at home) to a victory over the mighty Bulls in 2 OT? Members on this BBS are pining for that?

    3. Too many threads started by a junior member. FABR (among others) wore out his welcome doing things like that.

I really miss Sam. He would have really fit in with this team. Even though we have quality guards now, it never hurts to add another good player to you team. I wish him the best of luck.

Now you're just being a git, Mango. Anyone who registers has a right to start threads. I think Cassell is a great player, who would fit in just fine with the Rockets.

Am I the only one that doesn't know what a "git" is?

    ZRB,

    http://www.peevish.co.uk/slang/g.htm

What is the intended purpose of using slang from a different culture?

Why do you insist on calling people names?

Since you are obviously more intelligent, explain the logistics of how Sam would be on the same roster as Francis, Shandon, Cat and Moochie.

How would Sam Cassell fit on this team? He's not going to replace Mobley, Mobley is a better 2-guard then Cassell would be. He' not going to replace Francis, Cassell is good, real good, but he doesn't get along all the time with his teammates, and Francis will be a franchise player who will probably be an all-around better player then Cassell. If there are former Rockets that would fit this team, it's Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler (as a SF), Kevin Willis, Otis Thorpe, in-his-prime Mario Elie and at his peak Robert Horry. We're a perimeter oriented, guard rich team. Frontcourt help is what we need. Besides Francis and company pounded Cassell's crew, and they are supposed to be a better team then the young, rebuilding Rockets. That speaks volumes right there.

I'm glad the rockets got rid of him before the injury bug struck.

Cassell is 2nd tier. Francis is 1st.

No way do i keep Cassell, cuz that means no Francis.

Cassel and Francis would be the starters. I think both are interchangable between sg and pg. Shandon would be the 3. Walt would back Shandon up, while Mobley and Moochie would back up Cassell/Francis. I'm not desperate for this lineup, but that would certainly give the Rockets the best guard combo in the league. Cassell should never have been traded anyway.
Mango, why do you insist on pissing people off? Why can't a junior member start a topic? Is that a rule? Who are you to come into other threads and rip the posters for having an opinion?

If nothing more, Cassell would be a great backup. Moochie is nice, but my god that constant dribbling gets on my nerves. I know the Rockets don't need backcourt help, but Cassell would still be a nice addition.

You know what, it would be cool to have Cassell again so we could ship his ass out for another dominant big man.

    HELL YEAH!!

    ZRB,

If something is wrong, then its wrong.

I have no problem with newbies starting a thread. I do have a problem with junior members starting multiple threads just to see their name listed.

I answered your questions, now return the courtesy and answer my questions directed to you earlier in this thread.

No way would Cassell be a backup, he is already asking for superstar money from the Bucks. And there wouldn't be enough minutes for Mobley backing up Cassell. If the Rocks were to get Cassell they would have to trade Cuttino Mobley, and no way would I do that. And if the Rockets hadn't traded Cassell they wouldn't have Francis OR Mobley. Obviously you know Francis, but Mobley was picked up as a potential PG/SG and they wouldn't have needed that with Cassell who would be sucking money from the cap. No, I'm glad Cassell is gone, the Rocks are fine.

Cassell as a back-up? Yeah, that would go over well. Remember, this is the guy talking about how much respect he wants when he gets a new contract, peferaby immediately and mus be the max. I am sure he would not complain at all. It would be great:

    Francis:24 mpg
    Cassell: 20 mpg
    Mooch: 4mpg
    Mobes: 20 mpg
    Shan: 24 mpg

Even if you move Shan to the 3, he still would share with Wiz, Bull, Langford.

That is a chemestry experiment waiting to explode.

Oh yeah: Francis is better than Cassell - now and in the future.
Mobley is better than Cassell - -mostly for the future and is already the resident "jck shots up like crazy" player.
Two would be very, very bad.

Keep trying, though. you'll get there one day! [IMG]
