    LOFs leave
Don't waste your time talking to fake Rockets fans. You see that rookie status on him, you know what that means dude.

I still think he should be the 6th man on a good team instead of "the man" on a garbage team

The only thing that matters in lieu of winning a championship is getting better. Getting the 8th seed, getting knocked out in the first round, remaining an unattractive spot for potential free agents, and getting a crappy mediocre player in the draft with a crappy pick is WASTED. Not to mention Brooklyn doesn't have a Morey that can flip a bunch of crap for a superstar. So here's the dilemma: tanking doesn't work because they have no picks. Winning doesn't work because the garbage talent on that team won't ever sniff playoffs. Lin should cut his losses and put up massive numbers and pray a free agent notices next summer and considers joining that team.

In regards to Linsanity: Nobody would be talking about Jeremy Lin if he didn't have those standout performances. Yeah, he'd get a mention for being a bright spot, but nothing on the level of the Linsanity media event.

Maybe if he was 34 years old. But at 28, he should be 'the man' and put up numbers in order to increase his value. Then he might become 'the man' (or the second or third option) on a good team.

I disagree. Right now, everyone looks at them as a 20-win team...and no matter if Lin and/or Lopez puts up huge numbers, if they end up as a 20 win team, no good FAs will want to come. That's what happened to the Knicks all those years where Melo was putting up huge numbers...they were losing, so no one wanted to come. To some extent, that's what Houston has been doing with Harden...huge numbers, but who wants to come? But if the Nets exceed expectations and make the 8 seed with this crew? They may not be able to land Lebron or other superstar, but a team on the rise with a great team culture would be attractive to FAs who may be borderline All-Stars that would fit very well.

Agree that nobody would be talking about JLin if he didn't have standout numbers. But winning was the key ingredient...he doesn't get the cover of SI (twice) if he didn't lead the Knicks to wins.

I would say that in Houston and LA, it was more about his coaches who had low BBIQ. Seems like his coaches in New York, Charlotte and Brooklyn all like his BBIQ.

Maybe, but Lin is in a good spot. I doubt that he will flounder in Brooklyn.

Brook Lopez is their best player.

and since were on the topic.

Anyone know why they're sitting Brook on back-to-backs? AFAIK he's not injured nor recovering from an injury. He's 28 and only played 26 minutes last night. Seems weird.

Yep, fluke game indeed. Same inconsistent trash he's always been.

Yikes 4-16 from the field. Atleast he distributed well with 10 assists I guess

it's a rebuilding team - definitely - but it is not a garbage team exactly

Paul George said after Pacers loss

"They brought the fight to us. ''We knew coming in that this team necessarily (did not have) have the names but they play hard and they play together.''

The Nets actually sort of have the feeling of the Rockets team of 2012-2013 - discounted by everyone but weirdly self confident

Of course that Rockets team had Harden and Nets have nothing like that ...

Jeremy's bricks is what lead to the lost. If he'd hit them, they'd have won. LOL
