New York Times: Hillary Clinton illegally used private email for all State Dept. business

Sucks this didn't come up earlier so we could get some resolution before it's time to vote. But, it'd also suck for them to wait until after the election to say something. Assuming the FBI has a genuine concern, it's the right thing to do. But it won't change my vote no matter how bad it is -- I'm still voting Deez Nuts.

 

Sounds Like Comey is just following SOP and the GOP is peeing itself.

The text of the Comey's letter:

In previous Congressional testimony, I referred to the fact that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had completed its investigation of former Secretary Clinton's personal email server. Due to recent developments, I am writing to supplement my previous testimony.

In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation. I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation.

Although the FBI cannot yet assess whether this material may be significant, and I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work, I believe it is important to update your Committees about our efforts in light of my previous testimony.

Nothing is going to happen. Comey is just trying to cover his butt just in case there is a very very very very slim chance Trump wins or GOP gets enough backing to go after Hillary after the election.

 

Could be, or an outside source is about to drop some emails.

Or Trump is going to win.

It wouldn't make sense for them to do this now unless they had found something serious.

 

Comey didn't do the right thing initially, there's no reason to think he'll do the right thing now. They won't come out with anything until after the election and then the FBI will probably accept some kind of increased funding or something to make the whole thing go away. There was plenty of evidence for a trial and conviction the first time.

 

They are not re-opening the anything. Basically...stolen emails....are being reviewed. That's it.

 

These emails didnt come from the Clinton Server. So.....

 

That's my point. They already could have an indictment and conviction if they wanted to because there's more than sufficient evidence to prove that she's guilty, her political connections make her immune to the laws of the land. This isn't news because nothing will come of it.

 

It sounds like Justice Dept. is PISSED. Comey should not have released this information. They didnt come from he email server or wikileaks...........

 

Correct, Comey did not say he was "re-opening the investigation". Chaffetz said that.

Again, I don't think Comey did release the information to the public. He just informed the congressional committee. Chaffetz released it to the public

 

According to the laws on the books, but you're right Comey decided that she should get away with it. Of course, if you support Hillary for whatever laughable reason, that'll be enough for you. OJ is innocent of murder, Hillary is innocent of mishandling classified material, Micheal Jackson was innocent of fooling around with those little boys he paid off.
