He could have had like 20 assists. What a well controlled game by WB. He only took 2 3s. If he can limits that (or only take them when he's on fire), he's going to have an absolutely dominant year.
He was great yesterday, but when the season turns into a grind, they aren't playing a bad team like the Sixers (that was also missing their best player) and frustration sets in, we'll see how WB handles it. Russ knows he will be under a microscope then entire season so it's possible his best behavior lasts quite some time.
This is why WB was an MVP favorite. I still think he needs to get at least the #5 seed. If the Spurs or Clippers get the #1 seed, I think Kawhi or CP3 gets the MVP.
Alex Kennedy @AlexKennedyNBA 1h1 hour ago Russell Westbrook is averaging 38.7 points, 12.3 boards, 11.7 assists, 1 steal. He's shooting 45.3% from field and 44.4% from 3. OKC is 3-0.
Give him Player of the Week already. Davis was closest stat wise but he doesn't have the team record.
Also only a 12.0 TOV%, a career low for Westbrook. Amazing stuff so far. The MPV race between him, Kawhi and CP3 will be epic. Dunno if Anthony Davis can win enough.
Yeah, I'm kind of assuming LeBron will take a lot of rest time after securing the #1 seed, lowering his stats. But he should be in the discussion as well
