Last year's ass dragging, the Dwight drama, the 3 pt brick laying, the height of Harden-hate, the eye-roll inducing ineptness, whatever all else.... It's gone. They shed some brick layers and replaced them with proven shooters. They've shed that 7 ft. human anchor crybaby and his never ending whirlwind drama. Harden is even getting love from what I've seen. Look, I was there. Haren and Antoni. I was upset. It was residual, leftover effects from the struggle of watching that season. Suffering through Dwight's two faces. I was there. I'm not there anymore. I loved the ball movement and ease of offense this team had in preseason. I love the progression from youth, McDaniels, Dekker, Wiltjer, CAPELA big time...I love the lights out shooting from people not named Harden. I love how they've fully embraced James Harden: point guard. I can even see a glimmer of some defense, just the basic effort required. That's enough, it really is if they're going to be uber-efficient on offense and score 120 every night. What I'm saying is, I believe. :sip: I believe this team has 10+ wins better than last year in them. I was shocked, I didn't even remember they won 41, it felt like 5 at the most. But that's the past. This team has embraced Harden's ability and restocked the team on the fly to support that. Maybe it fails. Maybe all the hate returns, the team loads up the IR list, Harden sucks, D'Antoni sucks, yadayada...maybe. Maybe it goes even better than planned and they win 55 and home court. It's all possible and right now :sip: I believe good days are ahead of us. Let's put the league on notice. Drop 140 on LA and win by 50. :sip: Why the hell not?
Let's not get carried away. I will take a realistic 20 point win. Why not. This time last year we got bent over in the shower by Denver for 20. This year we need to be the ones that take out the soap droppers.
Back when they made the announcement about MDA, this board had a nuclear meltdown. Nearly everyone thought D'Antoni was not only a bad choice, but the WORST! POSSIBLE! CHOICE! EVER! I was one of the very few at the time saying, hey, don't be hasty -- this could actually be a great choice, seeing as how MDA actually invented the offense the Warriors run. But nobody could see past the seemingly stupid choice of not going all-in on a defensive coach. Hey, when James Harden is your star player, it makes no sense whatsoever to go with a Thibodeux or JVG defensive guru. Anyway, I'm glad to see many of the rest of you warming up to the MDA choice now. Of course, this all goes out the window if they don't get AT LEAST to the second round. Then you can all tell me how wrong I was.
