For real! I really don't get it either... He's provided a lot of insight for us that he really doesn't have to.
Not to mention right in the middle of a fight for his life. On the DMo topic. Something needs to give quickly. If DMo signs, he's got to work his way into shape and find the chemistry with the team. Clock is ticking.
That completely misses the point of inside information. All anyone could give us, including Morey himself, would be a snapshot of a moment in time. Most deals don't work out. Most fall through. That doesn't mean cyberx hasn't given completely accurate information. It means that things change in the NBA constantly. You don't know that you've ever "seen them be wrong."
You do realize that the people your message needs to reach are simply reading Miss Othmar on the page: "wah wah, wah wah wah..."
Turning down that coin with a question mark for a back makes DMO a grade A muffin head. 8 mil where half your pay is in a state with no state income tax. His 14/15 pre injury skills are worth more. But if your body can not execute those skills you bank what you can and 8 mil is the best he will get.
BimaThug: Now that the QO was terminated on Oct. 1st, that was the only one-year deal on the table for D-Mo. One-year deal, he would be a one-year bird player(veto rights on any trade). Rockets don't want to offer one-year deal now. No incentive for Rockets to put a one-year deal on the table. Nothing less than a 2-year deal with partial or no guarantees in the 2nd year, giving me flexibility to trade him. Even if he plays all year overseas, if he wants to come back to the NBA, as long as the Rockets keep his cap hold on the books, he'll remain a FA. They don't have to extend a QO anymore this season. If he doesn't sign by March 1, he can't go to another team & sign an offer sheet. He can only negotiate with the Rockets after March 1st. If he waits until next summer, Rockets just have to extend the QO again and he'll be a RFA again. He can never play in the NBA again as UFA unless the Rockets allow him to be one.
What happens if the league or players union terminates the current cba which they can initiate between now and dec 15th. Would any rfa rights die with the end of term June 2017?
I for one was really curious and excited about DMo in a Mike D'Antoni offense. His ability to stop and pop with his outside shot looked promising. Also he was without a doubt the best low post scorer big that the Rockets had, now we may not get to see him. Obviously he isn't happy with the Rockets offer..
Maybe he's waiting for the inevitable injuries to Anderson and/or Nene to give Morey incentive to not be a cheapskate about this. It's really weird that the Rockets would choose to be cheap now after throwing around so much money to outright awful players like Brewer and to incredibly injury prone players like Anderson and Gordon....just weird place to draw the line. Hopefully being cheap in this instance doesn't cost the team too much.
