I also moved on to the PS Vue. It's really fantastic but of course doesn't have Rockets/Astros games.

PS Vue is awesome but I am starting to worry as to how I'll be able to watch Rockets games. I refuse to get cable again.

Can you give me a quick pros/cons between the two (VUE vs. Sling)? I've checked out the channel options and I'm fine w/ the $20 Sling package plus the sports add-on. Besides channel availability, what's the advantage Vue has over Sling?

My UVerse bundle discount expires in two days and I am ready to cut the cord!!

For local channels I just bought a Mohu 50 mile HDTV antenna and the reception is crystal clear.

This. If you are a mid sized city, a HDTV antenna works perfectly for local channels. I grabbed a 15 buck one from best buy and it works like a champ in Austin.

Another convert from SlingTV to Vue here. I don't like the UI as much (using a Roku Stick) as SlingTVs but it's definitely more reliable.

My son watches Little Einsteins and Mickey's Playhouse.

So, if I subscribe to the $20 Sling package (which includes AMC) with the Disney Junior add on, will I be able to watch these shows and Walking Dead , on demand? Or would I have to follow the scheduled programming times??

I just checked and I see episodes two for Fear the Walking Dead. For the regular series I only see behind the scenes type of stuff

No idea if it comes available at other times

Ideally, you'd use your Sling credentials to log into the Disney Jr. app on a tablet or streaming device. There he can watch any show at anytime. My daughter watches the same stuff, I even catch myself paying attention and watching along with her when Lion Guard and PJ Masks comes on. :D

Overall SlingTV isn't bad but one of the worst instances for me was using it to watch one of the Rockets playoff games on TNT or ESPN I believe and it crashed every about other minute. Really pissed me off

After 48 hours of Playstation Vue, I have cut the cord. Just got off the phone with AT&T.

Anyone in here using Sling or Vue with Comcast Internet? Are you worried about hitting the new 1TB data cap that will be here starting in Nov?

For $10 more Vue lets you watch on more than 1 device simultaneously, bigger channel selection (including Champions League soccer!), and seemingly more 'dvr' on demand selection of previously aired shows. Better interface and reliability as well; I remember Sling struggling during really popular sporting events.

The minuses are there is no ability to watch on your computer. And you need to make sure your mobile device initially logs into the service from home otherwise you can't stream until you do so. For example, I reset my phone, and the first time re-logging back into Vue was on the road; it knew I wasn't on my home network so it places a limitation which basically means you can't watch anything. Just make sure you are already logged into the service before leaving home if you plan to watch elsewhere. I think this is meant to stop people from sharing accounts with others who live in different homes.

I switched awhile ago to streaming services to avoid paying per box/per TV 'rental' fees. The tipping point was Comcast trying to charge me $90 or something like that to fix THEIR box that I'm already paying monthly which crapped out on me due to old age.

Like someone mentioned right now, I forgot that I can watch it on my ps4 and my ps3 simultaneously. I'm happy I didn't get rid of my ps3.

I cut the cord about two months ago and use SlingTV and the over the air HD antennae for my Xbox One. The service works fine, but the apps are complete crap - so prepare for a little frustration from time to time. I've blasted SlingTV on Twitter and submitted complaints via support on to no avail - the apps haven't been updated in the two months I've been using it.

I basically only use it for ESPN and NFL network, so I may cancel the service (I paid 3-months in advance to get $50 off coupon for best buy). I opted to go with HBO Now, rather than do HBO through SlingTV - because the HBO apps are better than Slings. I have a NAS and will be setting up Couch Potato and PLEX for my TV shows, and I can leach off of my Mom's DirecTV for ESPN (I paid $99 for Sunday Ticket .EDU subscription). The Hauppauge HD Antennae for the Xbox One is great.

I had the same thoughts as you, but when I started running it through an amazon fire stick my experience improved tremendously.
