I,for one, feel the Rockets need to lock him up longterm...soon.I know there are a lot of mitigating factors, but if they are in the same ballpark, lets get it done. While I don't want to damage our run at CWebb,it would seem essential that the Rockets keep this important piece of the puzzle.
Although Shandon might not light it up every game,he brings that great D(which we need more of)every night. The effort which produces assists, boards, and helps ignite breaks is there each game too.I feel some of his strengths are often not utilized enough...such as moving without the ball and posting up 2's.His importance as a stabilizing, veteran prescence can't be understated either.
Well, those are my thoughts on him ,and I was curious what the bottom line might be in everyone else's book.I know bird rights are involved in there too.Anyway....How much and at what cost do you want Shandon(if you do at all)?

Give a him a 20% raise then lock him up bird style next yr. I love Shandon. He is the perfect complement to Francis.

No one in his right mind would pay 3mil for Moochie.

He is a quality backup. Maybe a starter on a bad team like Chicago. But you don“t pay 3 mil for a bench player.

Unless he is the 6th man of the year, of course.

I love Shandon, and not just for shunning Utah. [IMG] I think we sometimes forget that he draws the opponent's best offensive player the majority of the time and has done an EXCELLENT job shutting down, or at least containing, the opposition.

I WISH the man came out more aggressive sometimes...I think he has offensive talents that he hasn't fully utilized...but I would LOVE to lock the guy up, if the price was right.

We should definetly resign Shandon, especially if we get Webber. Everyone remembers how Shandon flourished with a good power forward in Utah and that's what got him attention when he became a free agent. I think it would only be better with Webber.

I think it is necessary that he is resigned.

He is the perfect guy to have next to our players.

But here are our free agents: Hakeem, Mooch, Mo, Shandon.

Assume we sign mo for about 7, mooch for about 3, And Shandon for 6.

    Would that work?

And then sign Dream a bird contract(if he wants it) I think he is a bird free agent [IMG]
