There is going to be a special screening of all three movies on Tuesday December 16. They will show the extended editions of all three movies! Woo hoo!

The only problem is that there is only one show in the entire freakin Houston and it sold out within 15 min!!!! :( :(

Anyone have any tickets to sell? Maybe exchange it for a Rockets game or something? Anything?????

    I'm trying ebay too.

why would they only do one showing of it?

Man...i don't know. all three movie, extended editions...all in ONE SITTING?! I don'know if I could handle that.

I love the movies...but damn. That is a whole day spent watching the movies.

    though...i probably would still go...;)

Starts at 2:00 pm. And its more then 9 hours. Fellowship 3.5 hrs, Two Towers 3.5 hours and 3 hour Return of the King. Not to mention the intermissions in between all three movies!!!

So my guess is one would be there from 2:00 pm till 1:00 AM!!!!

That would be far too much movies for even the most insane LOTR fans to take.

    I'd do it!

Those movies are great, and my bf and I have no problem spending our money on quality movies like that.
I think it would be even better than going to an amusement park.

i don't go to the movie theaters that often. Only when there are some major adventure movies out, and a select few of others.

Good movies so far this year have been:

Pirates of the Caribean, matrix reloaded, and LOTR TTT.

Also saw the new Pixar film- Finding Nemo. That was a great looking movie, a lot of "eye candy".

Ok, back on track, I would go and see these movies if I had the chance. It would be forever, but it would be fun to see how long I could last through those great movies.

ROckets03, are you sure the 3rd movie will be an extended version? Up 'til now, they have worked on these for months after the first films came out to produce the 2 "director's cuts". I'd love to see the first 2 in their full version on the big screen regardless, followed by the new one. That would be cool!

I just looked it up on Fandango. It looks like not only are they doing the "Trilogy Tuesday" but they are also releasing both of the extended editions of the previous films, into theatres for a limited time.

Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition: December 5 - 11

Two Towers Extended Edition: December 12 - 15

Just an idea- They should show all three movies on long international flights. That would be a great way to pass the time on those hellish cramped monstrosities.

ZRB, you sound like someone who recently made some long international flights on hellish monstrosities. ;) I hope your trip to Australia, the Motherland, was a trip. They don't show movies on those things?? (probably something awful, if they did)

I'm going to see Fellowship on it's last day, followed by Two Towers on it's first day and then wait a week for The Return of the King... assuming I can get the tickets. That's probably the best I can hope for. And seeing Fellowship of the Rings on it's last day won't be the first time I'll have seen the extended version on the big screen. Most likely about the 3rd time, at least.

Exactly my thoughts. I think it's highly unlikely that the extended version will be ready.

Sorry, I never meant the third movie will be the extended edition. I wish!! That is why I said the first two will be 3.5 hrs and the third one will be only 3 hrs.
