All we have seen play moochie this preseason. Turnover, turnover, bad shot, another turnover, poor ball control...

Let´s sign Mark Jackson, he´s the backup PG that we need.

He's better than Moochie and he's what the team needs.

OK he´s not a great defender, but like Moochie.

He´s a passer, a great game director, he would pass balls to Yao, he doesn't need make shots to play well, and that's perfect for this team. He could give balls to our inside players. He have experience and he knows how win.
Who knows haw win in this team??? Now without rice....mmmm
maybe Jimmy Jackson??? ...uff that's danger and pathetic.

Mark have a lot of things to teach to Stevie. Last year on the Jazz-Rockets games, he killed us.
Simply he have mind, and he knows very well how to play basketball.

i have been thinking about who our new backup pg should be for quite a while, but i think that thinking is over. i think mark jackson would be a perfect fit. he provides that veteran leadership we greatly need plus he is a floor general. he'll also allow stevie to play the two at times since he can hold the two on defense.
    GREAT SUGGESTION!

Mark Jackson turns the ball over more than Steve or Moochie. He led the league in Turnovers per 48 minutes.

How's he going to cut down on turnovers?

Man, why don't we get John Crotty or Rusty LaRue. Mike Penberthy?

    NOT a good idea.

i think the key thing is that francis needs some a veteran role model to give him more perspective on the game, i remember that interview with oscar robertson, and steve was sucking in every word, we need someone on our team that steve respects and will listen to to improve upon his game.

Do you honestly think I would lie to you about such easily verifiable information?

Don't believe it if you want, but Mark Jackson one the most turnover prone players in the league last year:

If after watching tapes of all 82 2002-03 games and observing 4 2003-04 pre-season games first hand Van Gundy is still using Mooch and Wilks as backup PG's, I have no problem with it.

If JVG can't "teach" Francis what he needs to know about running JVG's offense, I fail to see how Mark Jackson will. This logic implies that it would be possible to "dust off" John Stockton and use him as a backup PG and suddenly Francis becomes a better passer because Stockton has "shown" him how to read the floor. Bad logic IMO.

Jackson and Stockton are both P1S2 PG's...Francis is not. IMHO, what Van Gundy wants Francis to do is 1) learn an offense that emphasizes both his and Yao's skills and 2) play hard every night. We don't need Mark Jackson to accomplish these goals.

Ok, you are right. Is really extrain.
But he played olny 17 minutes per game.

    http://http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/statistics?statsId=163

Is evident that the PG's made turnovers. But francis or moochie lose more balls than him sure.
Maybe in Utah...with Malone, Kirikenko, collins... they ran the fastbreaks more than here.

But ok, you have the reason. But he is yet my most likely backup PG.

Sure! Let's bring all the former Knicks from every team...! Maybe because Patrick is here, they will WANT TO BE HERE?
How's about Charles Smith? Mr. "One... WIN... AWAY..." from the Clutch City video?

Mark Jackson is no longer in the league...

Check your spelling. Is it MARC?
