Ok guys, I promised that I would sim tonite but I got back later than I expected from my meeting and I stillhave some school work to do. I should be able to sim tomorrow but I am seriously considering retiring at the end of the current season. I PM'd Zac to find out if he had any interest in takign over for me but got no respone. If there is anyone that wants to take over the league let me know. CK
But nomar, you can't! How will you do the lineups on a regular basis when the next banning could be days away? On a completly different note, if anyone had a license for me, I could do it, although I'm a bit sceptical as we have gone through a few commishes now, and they all buckle under as time go by? But I'm not as busy as Castor, so then I only have to not get sick and tired of it as Zac et al did. But of course, this is only if someone have a license to spare.
My preference is in this order: 1) Zac 2) Heath 3) myself I would love to run the league, but I would need a license as well. However, with classes on Tuesday and Thursday night plus stuff on Mondays and Wednesdays, I am way too busy right now to run it. But I would do it, if no one else wanted it. I would just need to know how long it takes to input lineups as well as how long the actual "2 week sim" takes. I could get started at 10 at night and if this doesn't take more than an hour and a half, it wouldn't be a problem; however, if this takes 3 hours, then there will be no way. I post a lot at work (which I really shouldn't do) but I draw the line at running the sim while at work, lol. And Heath, I only list Zac in front of you because he has had experience in running the league compared to you but you would be a fine OOTP commish. Also, I will add this: Castor - I think you have done an outstanding job and contrary to public opinion, I understand how busy you are. Even if you could only sim like every other day or 3 times a week, I think that many people would live with that. So, I guess my point is that you shouldn't think about giving it up if you are unable to sim every day. But whatever you decide is the best thing to do whether that is you simming on a limited basis, Zac taking it back over again, Heath running it, or something else, I will be behind it (well almost anything, there is at least 1 situation I would not be behind ).
I know I'm new and I haven't experienced anyone other then Castor as commish, but I'd like to chime in on Manny's statements and thank Castor for making it very easy for me to pickup things and was always helpful when I would e-mail him questions. He made this a very painless and enjoyable experience. On that note, I'm for anyone who wants the duty and who seems to be dedicated to the league. From my short time here that seems to be Heath, Manny, Cat, and Zac. In no particular order. If any of them wanted to take over the league I'd be all for it.
Chuck would be a good choice to run it as well. Another possibility could be DV or Cat. The main thing as most of you know and Buck touched on it, is that whoever takes it over needs to be someone who is active and not one who will disappear from time to time.
On second thought Chuck might not make a such good commish. I don't think I want the commish telling me how bad I am and how much better he is then me.
A license will not be a problem. I would prefer Heath or Chuck run it. Nothing against you Manny I just know how much time it takes and believe me you will be better off without it. You guys let me know and I will get the files to the new commish asap.
Just kidding. I would only want to do it if no one else would. But we are in capable hands either way with Heath or Chuck. If we have to vote, I guess I would vote Heath since he has run CM, but really Chuck would be good to, so it doesn't matter to me (maybe you can throw my vote out).
Whatever, however, and whoever takes over, I'm all for anything to keep the league on track. That is, of course, as long as the new commish respects a certain pitcher.
Castor, I thought you were going to finish out this season and then let whoever take over. Did you change your mind about that?
based on his pitching in the playoffs, I vote to allow Tim's career to continue until he's 70... MVP!
I was just wondering where we were in terms of the OOTP. Is the league dead? Has a new commish been selected?
Heard from Castor. Chuck is taking over and the process of moving the files over from Castor to Chuck is under way. Chuck will try to get the season resumed either today or tomorrow (or I should say mess with getting it resumed again).
