That one Baylor receiver transfer isn't part of the program anymore. Browsed by it today. Wondery why.
My bet is that he either did something really stupid and tom didn't want any BS. Or Art Briles has a Job lined up somewhere and has been in Dickson's ear.
Houston flips 3 star safety away from Baylor Donovan Stiner from Bellaire High in Bellaire, Texas http://www.cardiaccoogs.com/2016/09/21/houston-flips-3-star-safety-away-from-baylor/
Coogs stayed put in the AP and Coaches Poll. Will need to demolish UConn and hope for a Ohio State and Bama loss. Thinking if Wisconsin beats Michigan then they will swap spots like Louisville did with Florida State. Stanford looked unconvincing against unranked UCLA. Also rooting for Memphis to beat Ole Miss and Rutgers over Ohio State. Top 25 has been holding serve a bit though especially the top 6.
Loved Herman at halftime when the reporter asked him if Ward was going to play in the 2nd half and he looked at the reporter like she was mad crazy, We need to get that running game going, lol. The man is looking for things to fix and is not worried about putting his players on the field to do it. Perfection. I don't think he will entertain LSU in the midst of a championship season. But if you are LSU, u want a coach who not only fixes things instead of repeating mistakes, but one who fixes them by halftime which is what Tom Herman does. You rarely see a poor 2nd half showing from the team or individual players.
If we do win the championship, there is the possibility that we will have beaten a #1, #3, #3, and #2 in the same season, possibly going through the SEC champ, the ACC champ, the Big 12 Champ, and the Big 10 Champ.
Forget UT & A&M. Especially A&M. That job isn't good enough to even be in the conversation. LSU and USC are the leaders IMO. Tom Herman at either place becomes a dynasty. I want him to stay at UH as much as anyone else but he's gone.
USC is the only job Herman would leave Houston for. Is family is at the forefront for him (he adores his wife) and big city is what they want. He isn't going to Baton Rouge (lol) and he isn't going to Austin (he's shown to hold grudges and keeping Houston out of B12 would mean something here).
Tom Herman is going to coach at Auburn, Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, Notre Dame, USC, newly-opened FIU & LSU, the NFL and oh yeah, Houston. Man, there are gonna be some disappointing fan bases.
You are talking about grudges that do not exist yet. He surely has a ton of good reasons to stay at UH, and he has a ton of good reasons to leave. Huge schools (ND, UT, USC) talking about him as a possibility should be a point of pride.
Even when comparing our own team right now to the P5, he admittedly and honestly notes they are 5 star players and we are not quite there. That was yet another eye opener for me that he could leave. However, I see getting into the Big 12 as pushing him away from UH to a better program that can compete every year with it's competition, and that may no longer be UH if we do get in. Hard to say but we are back at the bottom trying to rise out. What are his motivations? Money ( UH probably won't compete ) Prestige ( we lose ) Family ( Maybe we can win this ) Location ( We have some advantages ) Recruiting Pipelines ( He said he likes 5* ) Championship ( He can get this here due to schedule, but he can get the the big programs now too ) Support and Control ( I don't think any of us are clear on what they might be.
