Doubt the market wants DMo to sign the qualifying offer. No team is willing to pay more than the Rockets will match. Therefore, the market is the Rockets. Morey probably does not like the restrictions on the QO and probably is willing to pay DMo more to make his contract trade-able...but not likely close to what BJ wants for DMo.

DMo is heading back to Europe.

He's been blacklisted by the NBA for creating the sweat puddle that led to the injury of league darling Stephen Curry and the message has come from up top to all teams: DO NOT SIGN HIM, or else.

That's the real reason that the interest seems so low. Teams just aren't willing to risk the wrath of Emperor Silver.

We'd have to sign DMo to a big deal to do a S&T for Gay, wouldn't we? Since we have like zero capspace?

    Rudy Gay
    2016-2017 - $13,333,333
    2017-2018 - $14,263,566 (player option)

(Though I like DMo more than Gay, part of me would enjoy this trade just because it would obviously frustrate Boogie even more.)

I have no idea what he is being offered, but it seems like he really wants to stay a rocket, or at least that is what his social media comments lead me to belive. If this is the case, he is really playing against himself in terms of getting a high value contract. Hopefully the two sides can both give a bit and come to an agreement that has upside for both DMO and the team. The team should value his loyalty and his great public statements about the franchise. I dont know what his agent is doing, but this seems like it could be a matter that would be settled if DMO and morey could just meet/talk without having to go through an agent.

I think it's pretty naive to think a player is loyal to a team. This is a business. The players know it. The team knows it. DMo hasn't made his money yet, and his injury jeopardizes his long-term earnings.

We just tried to trade this guy for a draft pick and got rejected after he had already been shipped out. He has no loyalty to the Rockets, and if he does he's an idiot. Morey will try to sign him to the cheapest deal possible, and won't think twice about flipping him in a package for an upgrade (using the cheap contract as a negotiating point in the trade).
