The Warriors and spurs don't play anything like a mike dantoni team, even if you disregard defense. The Warriors run a lot of off ball movement and primarily use the bigs as playmakers after setting screens for the smalls. It's much more similar to a Rick Adelman offense. The Spurs offense involves even more midrange game and offense being generated by the bigs.

The old suns Dantoni offense is usually a steady diet of PG probing and running the show. Everyone else is spotting with the exception of the 5 for PnR. The only similarity to the recent championship teams is playing quicker players.

If and only if Harden buys in. Harden has basically been forced to play iso + pick and roll ball for the past three seasons. Gonna be hard to change the system on him overnight.

Dantoni and the Suns win a title if Horry doesn't bait Amare into a suspension.

We need a second star player tho

Both Steve Nash and Chris Paul are point guards, they should hold the ball as that is what point guards do. They are highly efficient, but they do not take a lot of shots away from their teammates.

Agree, D'antoni gave himself too much credit. Spurs won multiple championships in more than one decade. Warriors has some of former suns staff, that does not mean they play D'antoni system.

If we can credit anyone on Warriors's recent success, it is their GM who build up a strong core from their picks.

Morey also claimed that rockets played same style as Warriors... LOL.

If he wanted to, Nash could avg 23-25 that would actually helps the team win with his shooting efficiency. (As opposed to the empty stats type that any wing can get like Jerry stackhouse Larry Hughes that makes team lose)

But Nash is an even better passer that he elevates everybody. Sharing the workload, sharing the love (stats) is what makes a winning culture.

Harden, otoh, doesn't share the stats.

Curry in 2015 gave up a lot of scoring, as it's obviously proven in 2016. I think the staff strongly recommended Curry, being the most efficient player ever, to score more.

Even with the 30ppg, Curry still lets his teammate play plenty, see, Draymond as the playmaker. Harden has to learn that.

We'll go as far as Brewer wants to take us.

Fans need to stop thinking in a 1 year window. This new culture is awesome for the remainder of Harden's window. We don't have the roster to compete for a ring this season, but if we:

    - Reduce our reliance on Harden iso's
    - Convince Harden to play defense
    - Establish a culture of moving on offense
    - Establish a culture of aggressive team defense

.. we will be well on our way to a ring in the future. I have my doubts but I'll admit, I like what I'm hearing over and above the fluff quotes and generic riff raff.

D'Antoni is the Darth Vader of NBA coaching, the analogy fits so well it cracks me up. D'Antoni imploded and went away, Kerr is Luke peaking too early, this offense is the force, and I guess Curry is Kylo Ren. Draymond is Jar Jar by default.

Draymond is more Rancor than Jar Jar, or possibly Jabba, although he could be Jango Fett on occasion (which is not necessarily bad).

I'll be very surprised if we don't win 50 games
I'm legit excited for this season, if only because they'll be fun to watch. I don't expect us to win any more than a series, if that. But we'll be so fun to watch.

The Houston Rockets have led the league in 3s each of the last two years, not GSW. He is not going to make us shoot much more. I'm willing to bet we actually shoot a little less threes than the last two years.

D'Antoni isn't saying he's going to turn us into a 3 pt shooting team. He is saying he wants "A lot of threes, a lot of ball movement, a lot of quick movements. "

We only have the "A lot of threes" part down.

What an intelligent response! Also, how did you read the article in 1 minute and come up with that brilliant response?

...if only we had negative rep...

This is the full boat pose:

    Full Boat in poker:

Also, going full boat: all aboard. So everyone is going to be in on this, I'm guessing. Or at least that's his attitude.. I'd believe it if I heard Harden, Les and Morey repeat it.

    Picture these guys wearing red:

Seriously. I don't see how he thinks we're gonna win that many games

D'Antoni was talking strictly about their last title in 2014. Popovich completely changed the offense to be a 3pt shooting, spread the floor, motion/cutter offense with still some Parker/Duncan PnR. That offense was unlike any previous Duncan-era, Big 3 offense.

So, in 2014, D'Antoni would be correct that Pops ran a similar offense to what he likes to run.

And let's be fair to D'Antoni, just like Pops, D'Antoni's offense isn't frozen in time to only look like Nash and Amare had to run it. I'm sure what he wants to do can look different...like the 2014 Spurs and 2015 GSW

I know this article is a bit of a fluff piece but I am excited about this team, we have pretty good offense and defense coaches and a team that seems like they want to improve. I enjoy watching motion offenses like the Spurs from a couple years ago, so if he can create a motion offense that shares the ball then I am on board.

Honestly, I think getting rid of Howard was probably the top move of the off season. He just brought a selfishness to the team. He always seems to try and talk the right stuff to the media and than just never comes through. He wanted more offensive touches but he just was terrible on post ups. He just never seemed all that into the team last season.
