Yes, I get it. That is funny. Eggie miss a FT to lose his hope for a double-double. Haha.

This team can't survive without Yao, but also can't survive only with Yao. Where are the outside shooters for this team:confused:

The Rockets played tonight without their bench unit of Pike, Taylor and A Griffin.

And Pike and Mobley are your outside shooters that didn't play.

It really is unfortunate that the Rockets can't play any of these preseason games with their ENTIRE team so we can see the full starting lineup and the FULL bench unit mix and match during the game :(

A little off topic but here it goes. I just remembered watching this game something I saw 4 years ago about JVG. Francis first game in MSG against Knicks his rookie year on national tv. Francis was scoring alot and scored like 30 points. It was already mid season and the memo was out he was a good player.

Jvg was miked during the game, and could be heard and seen during a timeout talking to his players about Steve Francis saying "Dont let Francis beat you,he isnt THAT good!".

Then last year on TNT JVG said he would pick Amare as ROY and Mike Fratello got into an arguement with him. So what we have here is a coach that doesnt like Francis that much(and Steve could be traded) and one that thinks Amare is better than Ming. This is all true. I have one good memory.

BTW, Id trade Francis for Davis in a heartbeat. And Pjbrown would be nice also.

to gwatson86: stop trying to bash francis b/c whether u like it or not hes our most talented player...without either him or yao we would not go anywhere but down, so stop hating on him and start showing some love to the guy.

you're right, nachbar's confidence in his shot is extremely low right now. i think a game or two were he knocks them down will really open up the basket for him. i just hear "stiff", "dan langhi 2", and "bust" thrown around ALOT, but i don't see that at all. way too premature for those labels.

as for eddie, he's kept his game around the basket, he just doesn't make the easy baskets. like nachbar he's agressive on the boards and i think had 4 blocks tonight but there's a reason why we struggle to get up over 70 points with both these guys playing significant time.

no question maurice and any kind of shooter(piatowski and cat) are really being missed.

    You can say that again!

As for Eddie, great that he is not taking as many 3ptrs this year and playing closer to the basket but it sucks that he just can't put it in the hole.

    Check this out...

Francis and Yao were efficient with limited minutes...

    Francis, 28 minutes, 17 points, 4 assist, 1 turnover

    Yao, 23 minutes ( ), 15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks.

    Now, here's the interesting part...

Last year, Edgie Griffin got 24.5 minutes per game. Tonight? 31 minutes. He shot 4-15 for 9 points.

Last year, Bostjan Nachbar got 5.5 minutes per game. Tonight? 33 minutes? He shot 1-6, for 4 points. But he got 10 ( ) rebounds.

Looks like JVG is trying to give the young'ins some PT.

Plus, as a team, we had low turnover. Only 13.

Note, the best teams average around 13 or lower per game. That's aways a good sign.

i think the starting lineup when the season starts is pretty much set...francis,cat,JJ,eg,yao...i think one of the key players for this year is piatkowski b/c that guy can shoot lights out and in this lineup with yao that can result in alot of open shots for him

I think Les needs to pace himself. Four preseason blowouts and he is already going to the "injuries card." :D
