Unfortunately, after that awesome stretch earlier in the year, Fister has slowly been regressing back to the pitcher his peripherals suggest he should be. Not terrible, just below average. People can place blame anywhere they want, but fact is when you score 8 you should win the overwhelming majority of the time.
meh, 5 of our runs came when the game was basically over so it's hard to put much stock into that. much different pitcher mentality when there's a huge lead. now had the rangers lost the game (since they put up a dime piece in the first five) or we had scored that much early on, you can make the case. end of the day they're just a better team, but i imagine at least 65% of it is mental. anyone who has played competitive sports knows how crucial the psychological aspect is. we can't hit their crap pitchers and even if we do, they just hit ours even better. really wish we had completed that comeback though, not just because it's a win, but because of the potential momentum change in belief we can actually beat them.
They just hit the ball harder. We look like kids compared to the Rangers. And the sad thing is that they aren't even the best team in the playoffs. We need to close the gap with an ace and a number 2 who can make them swing and miss and get frustrated. Just another reminder to the rug bearers that we need to upgrade.
Still in shock Gurriel wasn't playing. He comes in and produces immediately. The guy is hitting 350+ and you play the guy hitting in the 100+.... It is baffling.
This I don't buy. The Astros worked with him extensively to try and turn him around. Not to mention he was terrible in the field here as well. Gomez hasn't been a good player for the Rangers, just the fact that he contributes anything is a kick in the ass. In fact his stretch with glasses on earlier this year trumps his recent play. I don't like the situation but I don't put anything on the Astros for this one.
Yea...I was going by the OP's thread but I forgot they made some changes prior to the series. It's lucky for him. lol
Including last night he is hitting .214 with the Rangers, with 13 K's in 28 ABs He had some big games for us too, but he is the same player for them right now. Bet ya a string of 7 k's in 10 ab's is coming soon

Its not just that they can't beat them... they so rarely have leads for more than just one half-inning.
