The exterior was ok and the concourse was cool, but I left extrememly impressed with the arena area (court and seating). I love the light board stripe that goes around the whole upper seating area. Very cool.

Damn, Jeff. I would have looked for ya if I knew you were there.

I wanted to bring my daughter down there to shake hands with Yao so she could see how tall he was, but we had to go to a birthday party and I didn't know if Yao was gonna be able to.

Did Yao sign any autographs or shake hands with people?

BTW, who jumped with Yao in the pic? Whoever it was, got some good air on him.
Perhaps Yao jumped late, but in any case, he can't jump as high as the other guy.

What would those who attended estimate the crowd to be?

    Yeah, probably around 2000 people.

    I wanted to get Boki's pic :(

I ended up with Mobley, which I didn't want. I remember last year me and my bro were standing around waiting for the pics to be taken (in a similar fashion, I think it was the Rockets/Sonics game last year)

We were around 2-3 back in the line, when he just takes off and leaves. We hadn't been there too long to begin with. My bro ended up getting a pic MoT though.

Some old woman was being a b**** too, trying to get Mobley to autograph a basketball. I wanted to grab the ball and fling it across the court. Maybe I shoulda have...:p

Not only does the black team have Yao and Steve, they also have Cato, Griffin and Taylor! Who does the white team have to rebound against them!?!?

BTW, do you guys mind emailing me the pics you guys took?

I want to post them on a website but I wasn't able to get a camera for today when I went.

If you don't want to, I understand. If you do though, my email is mamolina@uh.edu

    Later, and thanks.

PS: I also want to see if I showed up in any of them. It seems as if RockHEAD was sitting directly across from where I was.

I love them very much. Would you provide me the full size of the 2 pararouma pics? I want them to be my desktop.

I use Realviz. In PS, I have a couple of plug-ins that can correct distortions.

I can't say i agree, look at the tip, it is clearly tossed over onto the other dude's side, Yao always gets a bad toss...its like refs feel they need to compensate for the other fella...

look at the ball, and then look down at the feet, the toss is not a fair one

Starting next season, the NBA is going to give the winner of the tipoff 10 points instead of only 5 points as of now.

That is what I remember and didn't Rudy have Eddie do most of the tip offs last year?

I was disappointed in the open practice. I've been before and they use to play 5 min quarters and keep score. It gave us the fans a good idea of what to expect from the team and just gives it a little bit more competitive spirit. The rockets just looked like they were walking up down the court. I guess I can't expect much since it's free but I was hoping it would still be in the same format as years before. :(. I'm just excited that the season is about to start and I just have high expectations.
