I would rather all three Worrell, Drexler and Calvin hit the road. Honestly, lets put nostalgia aside and let some newcomers fire up this new team! Drexler only does home game (now with Worrell)!

Yeah! If the announcer is not firing up the team then he's not doing his job.

I don't think he lost it. It was a passive aggressive year for the entire broadcast team, but at 32 years, he's probably gone 12 more years than he would normally go. That's about when people get tired of you and your salary. Unfortunately, he'll be forgotten quickly. And we'll all move on. That's the shame of it. Like when I was watching the Rams broadcast team today, that announced Marshall Faulk and Eric Dickerson, and then pointed to each so that everyone knew who they were talking about...because people forget you fast. And that's the lonely feeling, like everyone loved you, and then all of the sudden you aren't a part of it, and you aren't welcome anymore, and nobody really loves you.

Bill is not good at what he does anymore, he has declined pretty substantially over the past few seasons

That being said, he has earned the right to leave whenever he wants to. No one should be showing him the door unless it is his decision. I honestly cannot imagine watching a game without him

He's old as hell why wouldn't he retire and enjoy his time in his 10 acre ranch

Les has been so bad for Houstun...

    Changing the championship uniforms/logo
    Preventing NHL
    Being cheap at times
    The current uniforms and logo

If other local franchises had champion pedigree, Les would've been ousted by now. The man is living off championships he coattailed by good timing.

Sorry, but why did Cyber feel the need to share this nugget of information? It slightly tarnishes Bill's legacy and pisses the fans off. Seems like a lose-lose. I love his inside information, but this was pointless.

This is how a lot of "end of an era" situations go...

Hell, it just happened with Dave Ward at ABC13.

Why would you want to retire from a job like Bill's?

    It was time though.

Loved listening to Worrell's commentary. But last season you could really tell how frustrated he was with the performances. I actually think he did well at holding back (at least that's how I interpreted it).

Regarding Les - didn't he sell the WNBA team who were the most successful team at that time?

Bill Worrell is being pushed out because every time he announced a Rockets lead last season the team would immediately put itself into a deficit. He bad luck, think about it every single time he said the phrase "now that's Rockets basketball" no matter how big the lead we'd give it up. Up 20 against Miami, Thornton shooting the lights out, "now that's Rockets basketball", lose by 20. Good riddance, are people really up in arms about a guy that worked in "he shot that from Pearland" into 17 games last season? He's old and he's tired and he doesn't have it anymore, he'd be great on the radio but tv needs more juice. When he was on with Calvin, Murph carried his ass, Clyde is too dry and Bull is too corny, they need some flavor in there

I really liked Bill Worrell. I didn't think he was old or dry. Drexler and Bullard were very dry and low key.

This is a ridiculous sentiment, with the exception of SOME of the jersey comments

Say what you want about Les (especially recently), but you cannot accuse him of being cheap, the Rockets have been among the most aggressive NBA franchises of the past 2 decades. Under his ownership, the Rockets have been the winningest, most relevant nationally, and most well run organization in the city and it isn't even close.

Also, who the hell cares about NHL

Les tried to bring the Pittsburgh Penguins to Houston back in 2007.
