Well another country has to be in a golden generation to beat Team USA. Argentina is just old and small.

Their gold medal from over a decade ago should have inspired them to develop more great players, but they are a small country any ways.

I think the only teams that have a shot this year are Spain on a really good day. Australia may be in a golden generation period by the time the Fiba rolls around or Japan...depends on if these guys actually develop...would have helped if Kyrie played for them.

how bad are fiba refs? lowry misses a 3, cousins is standing underneath the hoop for the rebound, an argentina guy comes flying in and soars over cousins and slaps it out and the fiba ref, standing right there, gives it to argentina. not that it even matters in this game, but come on, you were standing right there.

cousins turns the ball over way too much, but man when he is guarded by scola, i think he has scored every single time. and not like with amazing shots, but just by working in for gimme layups.

is there any way to ensure we never trade for jimmy butler? although he doesn't seem to be a fan of analytics with all his mid-range jumpers so the point is probably moot.

Ok WTF did Harrison Barnes do to Coach K other than pick UNC over Duke? lol

They were up 20 and Barnes couldn't even get in the game.
I see they're up 30 now and Coach K just put Barnes in. Wow.

Why did you mention Barnes? He hadn't played a minute of the game until he was supped in about 1 or 2 minutes ago. Lol you just wanted to write some stuff about the GSW players didn't you.

They were overrated by most of the Basketball media and fans from the start of the tournament. Never as good a team as it seemed they should be.

There was someone earlier in the thread or the USA roster thread that said from the start that this Argentina team wasn't as good, wouldn't be as good, etc.

well at least we won big while people not named durant shot 4-24 on 3's. usually that would spell trouble. and good to see durant go back to 2010 mode. going to need that kind of intensity and effort against spain because they have more talent than argentina.

almost nobody but durant really shot well in this game. even including barnes 3 in garbage time we were 4-24 on 3's outside of durant. george actually made some 2 point jumpers but after it was a 20 point game.

France has been overrated for a while. They seem to always disappoint in either the Fiba World Cup or the Olympics. Their coaching sucks imo.

Interesting to make a comparison to the '12 team vs. Argentina team. Notice the defensive differences.

Well, uh, they were right? Argentina is not that good.

Eh, those teams this olympic seasons were not indicative of a "golden generation".

Yeah Kyrie would have been amazing, but not enough.
Only way teamUSA can lose is if they choke.

Australia should get the silver, Baynes has been huge, 2 legit bigs playing 2 ways makes thrm hard to beat, but no way they can close out all the scorers for team USA

I think Parker, Nocioni and Scola are done as well. Will be tough for Argentina to assemble a competative team the next years.

It's Harden2Capela's new account. Did you expect anything else?

If I'm not mistaken, he's a LeBron nuthugger, so pretty funny that he's hating on Durant for jumping ship.
