O.k. forget the game for a second, the reality is whether or not there will be free elections and democracy in Cuba...Pres. Bush announced this goal recently...
I don't have articles to cite, but I'm sure the articles will come...

To persuade Cuba to change by econmic means is delicate since it is imperitive not to hurt those you don't intend to hurt.

Why? I think the timing is right...Castro IS getting older...They are so close to us and the importance of halting a future Government that conflicts with us benefits our security, and citizens with relationship ties.

Now it is up to the people who get paid the big bucks to examine where, who, how, when, and by which method is best to go forth on...I understand the choices could have been more benign, but I feel this is an issue much of the public at large in the United States is on board with...If you don't care about the ties, you care about the security or the future security concerns...

If you are on board with this, then it's logical to back our administration in looking at the issue to attain the goal of democracy and free elections and to consider the proper methodology to utilize...

Cuba is one of the reasons I want the Republicans out of office ASAP. If they are in when Castro dies, the neocons and GOP strategists will coddle to the right-wing Cubans in South Florida who think they are the true rulers of Cuba. Meanwhile, the Cubans who are actually in Cuba will resent greatly the idea of the Florida folks coming in to run the country and will rightly view them as puppets of the US. All the markings of another international disaster and armed conflict.

Whoever is in office when Castro dies will have to keep the Floridians in check while doing what is necessary to build up democracy on the island. A very tough chore indeed, but at least the Dems would, I think, try.

Thank you for telling us what will happen in the future. What does your crystal ball say about the world series?

You'd think history would have taught us by now to just let revolutions happen on their own. Has there ever been a US-pushed revolution that hasn't resulted in a big mess?

Allowing the governments to fall on their own, and allowing the people of those countries to create their own new government, worked extremely well in much of Eastern Europe.

When I was in Cancun a couple of summers ago celebrating my college graduation; I was feeling adventurous and got some info about hotels and connecting flights to Cuba from Mexico. I had spoken with some other Cuban adventurers in our hotel and they raved about how beautiful it is--the old "American Riviera" hotels and architecture. I hope that country can rise from the ashes of embargo and dictatorship(lets not pretend it was communisim...). Good question about government--who will be the new masters of Cuba?
