Unfortunately with the big lead they will try to accommodate the Twins.

Similar situation a few weeks ago with a Thursday getaway day and they waited close to three hours.

Archer, Gray, & Price all have ERAs over 4. That is 4 of the top 5 in Cy Young votes last year.

Pretty amazing all those guys have struggled.

Fortunately for OAK and BOS, they've experienced winning titles... not just baseball either. Ray's have <20 years as a franchice, but the city has won in multiple sports since then. There's no doubt the totality of a city's success plays a role in fans' outlooks and frustration.

    Still storming.

They should actually have stopped the game prior to the 4 run second. There were a couple of noticeable lightning strikes and it was obvious the storms were about to hit. I was surprised they did not halt the game then. We headed home around 8:30 and drove through a lot of nasty stuff.

And they're expecting more of the same tomorrow. Wouldn't it be funny if the Astros playoff hopes came down to a double header against the Twins at the end of the year? I don't think the teams have a mutual off day until September that could remotely make sense for double header makeup.

Not put together well right now for sure. I'm not going to be upset about 1 or 2 days of weird construction knowing that Valbuena and Gurriel are coming soon. I'll wait and see how long it takes for them to join.

In the meantime, I am ok with White at 3rd, Kemp at 2nd, Marwin at SS as needed. So there is *some* flexibility. Certainly not enough for pinch running scenarios, etc.

Looks like they just postponed it according to the Twins broadcast crew, but not quite yet official.

rule doesn't even make sense. why not just resume it from where it was?

I'll take it though. we are owed about 20 of these from the Ike no hitter.

So the score is wiped clean.... Sweet, Astros lucky day part two. First Gomez is designated for assignment, then a 5 run deficit is scratched....

This is going to be the turning point...the fact that the game is called and we have a do-over.

We're about to win 18 of the next 21 games.

Just don't see the need for the extra pitcher, not like the pen is worn thin right now

Too many games lately where we have had so few bench options

Every one of these games are very important to whatever playoffs hopes we are still holding to

True. Wonder if they anticipated the weather issues.. not that they would make a move purely for weather. But if they saw it coming and knew they had a roster move to make for Gomez, perhaps they did it for a couple of days knowing what might be needed?
