Khan was exposed as the father of a hero, who was offended by Trump's lack of American values and principles, and support of the constitution.

That exposure, helped the nation feel sympathy toward Khan. As a Muslim immigrant and someone loyal to the United States and its constitution, he had been attacked by Trump. So Khan spoke about the service of his son, and his feelings.

Then Trump showing that he isn't stable attacked Khan.

    Now it's backfired on Trump.

IF you want to try and trash the father of a hero who sacrificed more than you or Trump for this nation, then that's your choice. But it won't play well for you.

Hopefully Trump and his supporters continue to talk about the Khan family. Seems like a winning strategy to me.

Hey Trumpsters here, did you guys get this email? Mr. Trump now wants you to stop attacking the Khan family.

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">JUST IN: Trump email to surrogates calls for &quot;URGENT PIVOT&quot; away from Khans <a href="https://t.co/YPR4YFobrA">https://t.co/YPR4YFobrA</a> <a href="https://t.co/0Y6CSZX6ZM">pic.twitter.com/0Y6CSZX6ZM</a></p>&mdash; The Hill (@thehill) <a href="https://twitter.com/thehill/status/760574407773417473">August 2, 2016</a></blockquote>

This is teribad for Trump! Now, if he gets out of this, he might truly be unstoppable. The last couple of days have been an absolute clusterf#(&.

Just listening to Trump and his surrogates has me asking if this is real life.

No, he's another "denounce but not renounce" coward.

Trump is not going to win, and history is going to remember people who came out against him, like, ugh, Ted Cruz, better than the cowards like Christie, Giuliani, and even Ryan and McConnell who stand around and reluctantly support him anyway even as he basically acts like the worst human being on the planet, let alone a terrible president.

Can someone also tell me how Trump "attacked" Khan, besides asking why the mother didn't talk? 95 percent of this "drama" is fabricated by the media to keep the hate going.

Sure, sport, keep living in your echo chamber. The rest of us, from Obama to John McCain, live in the real world.

    More fallout from this:

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Top republican: <a href="https://twitter.com/Reince">@Reince</a> is 'apoplectic' over Trump's refusal to back Ryan. He called several Trump staffers to express his displeasure.</p>&mdash; Katy Tur (@KatyTurNBC) <a href="https://twitter.com/KatyTurNBC/status/760675598817718272">August 3, 2016</a></blockquote>

Oh wow, Reince called a bunch of Trump's toadies and raised his voice?

That will really set him straight.

Nice to know that you are in favor of attacking the family of fallen American heroes. But we already know that neither you or Trump put America first.

Why are you still posting here? Trump told you to pivot away.

But for real, it was a trap and he fell right into it. Literally all he had to do was thank the family for their son's service and move on (maybe make a comment about how Hillary has sacrificed nothing).

Instead he starts talking about his sacrifices (which was dumb as **** given the fact he was responding to parents who lost their child fighting for the country) and attacks the family (with a dumb comment about a grieving mother).

What he said was dumb as hell and highly inappropriate.

Well people don't see it that way. At least the people who matter, the electorate.

That's called politics and its why we don't elect people off the street. It takes years to master the political craft. Seems like people aren't ready to abandon the "establishment".

Are you calling Trump a liar? Trump himself has said he attacked Khan. He said he did it because Khan attacked him first.

So do you think Trump didn't attack Khan?

My god you are as bad as Trump is. He questions why the mom didn't talk, implying she wasn't able to do her religion or background. He belittles their loss by suggesting he had equal sacrifices. And then he and his supporters attack the parents, questioning their background and motives.

Both he and you are shameless.

Guys, RL is a fanatic. It's like trying to argue with someone from a cult or convince a member of ISIS that hating Jews is irrational. Not going to happen.
