This club is going no where fast. And as much as I like the Yao Ming singing, It's going to break this team up in a New York minute. You see JVG is a deffensive minded coach, so unless the Rockets are able to hold apponets to atleast 80 points a game, were up Siht creek. And I really don't blame Francis on this. The team has left him in the shadows, as far as being the vocal point on this team. From the uniforms to the naming rights, I can see why francis might feel left out, because I feel the same way. Management has left all of Houston on a wash line. Not to have Houston on one of the jerseys is a ******* discrace. I think we should have taken a theam from the Texans, and put Yao Ming in red white and blue. Rocky Balboa, and the Harlem Globetrotters style. Iv'e been supporting this team for 25 years, and I don't see why we left this issue by the wayside. And don't tell me it's money, because I'll never spend another red cent on the team if that's the case. That's how feed up I am with the direction of this team. Please someone tell me otherwise.
I guess everyone is feeling warm and fuzzy about the direction this team is going. Enjoy it while it lasts, because it won't last forever.

I don't really see what your getting at here. I don't like the new uniforms either, but how can you think were worse off this year than last? JVG preaches defense, but how is that so bad? Every coach in the league emphasizes defense.
RP, it's really not that bad. My patience with a lot of things Rockets related has worn a little thin too. But we can't judge this season just yet. Wait til about January to make a decision on whether or not the organization's plans are gonna work. Besides, there are a lot of basketball geniuses that are making sure this team avoids going "nowhere fast."
Roc,just chill for awhile. You're definitely overstressed on this one if you feel Francis should've been included in the naming rights of the arena. As for their performance so far,I haven't been able to see the games here but it's my understanding that JVG has been playing mostly the subs to see what he's got there. I think most of us expect even the starters to struggle somewhat as they adjust to his style of play. JVG's plan for this team sounds promising but we can't give up after two meaningless,sub-filled games. Let's give him at least one more meaningless starter filled game before we throw in the towel.
I just wanna know, when did I miss Yao singing? That would have been cool! Does he know some Neil Diamond? But then again, if Steve is the vocal point, maybe he should do the singing...
I'm going to be a little patient, which is difficult for me. The only thing I don't like about the direction of the team is that nothing was really done to shore up the forward spots, especially the "3"; but this is probably due to CD's and other's attachment to who we already have and JVG needing to work with them first before he shapes up the roster. Besides, two pre-season games watching a bunch of subs? Doesn't tell us much.
A new head coach that isn't markedly better than the old head coach, two scrub small forwards, a one dimentional shooter, and a fat ass center with man-t*** that would be lucky to be on the practice squad of most NBA teams. Sorry everybody, lottery year #5, coming up...
We hang with the Seattle starters for over two quarters with our third string scrubs. Do you want our direction to be reversed so our starters can hang with Seattle scrubs for over two quarters? Patience won't hurt.
The new coach is different. Might be what the doctor order. At this point, NOONE knows if it's the right medicine yet. As for the role player additions, it's the best the team can do. Do you think they would trade any of the main players? Yao? Francis? Mobley? Griffin? Taylor? Just because some people want a huge shackup doesn't mean it should happen. The Rockets were not going to throw away Eddie unless they got major talent in return (not going to happen). Yao and Steve are the 1 2 punch of the team, not to mention it's identity. Mobley is OK enough to deserve to be here. So, no trades, no money for Free Agent. No Big Changes. No problem. I don't like the Rice/Amechi trade but if the trade exception is actually used to add talent later, then it's a good trade. As for the uniforms. ##it, it looks great to me. And so what the word Houston is not there. Name more then 5 NBA uniforms that have the city's name on it.
I think there about 12,000 lurkers who just sit back and laugh at at some of the stuff on this board. Unhappy with the direction after 2 preseason games where our starters have barely seen the court? Unhappy with the change in uniform when we had one of the worst uniforms in the history of sports? Unhappy with the naming rights? Man, who gives a flying **** about the damn naming rights? I need a drink now, too.
I'm with RP, I'm ready to give up on the team after two games of watching mostly scrubs. And how can management not consult with a player who has been with the Rockets going on 5 years when making decisions regarding uniforms and naming rights.
Two games and Yao hasn't played yet. Don't start panicing unil January if we are 10 games below .500. Give them a little time, and don't rant at 4 in the morning and expect an answer right away, alot of people have jobs and need sleep.
Whats wrong with the team besides the jerseys? Why should Francis be the man in "EVERYTHING". Last I checked he was only a allstar pg, rap mogul and not a designer. Well its too early with that pessimism unless your Yetti.
