Love the initiative but you forgot to prorate his contract though. Ignoring any performance bonuses (uh huh), you'd really only need about 4.5M.
it feels like when we have a game with runs galore(sunday), we come back the following day with a hangover and can't get it up.
Tough loss but a couple of positives. Keuchel is looking like a really good pitcher again. Not best in the AL like last year, but I never really expected him to be at that level. If he keeps pitching like he has the last month or 2, we'll be good to go. Shame he took the L last night. Bregman looks fine at 3B, even though it was only one game, it put to rest just about any doubts I had about it, which weren't a lot to begin with. And boy I thought he got that Grand Slam, so close.
We definitely had our chances, but Pineda's splitter was filthy. Gotta tip your cap. We couldn't hit it when it was in the zone and started chasing it out of the zone. Sure he's been terrible this year but he had that pitch working last night.
I feel like that's been true of the Astros for as long as I can remember. Probably just selective memory, though.
Its probably true with most teams.... no team faces horrible pitching every game. Lincecum is a terrible pitcher... he's also exactly the type of pitcher that the Astros all tee off on (slow stuff that won't miss many bats). The Astros lineup as is universally struggles with guys who throw fast... regardless of their ERA's coming into the game. One thing Bregman actually has (over some of the other guys) is a contact tool on fastballs.
ya you just can't beat the boys up too bad over last night - pineada was dealing. 4' from a bregman grand slam tho... that would've been amazing.

Scoring four runs doesn't indicate the offense has faced horrible pitching. We currently have too many .200 hitters in the lineup. Upgrades are near.
Just silly to send a billionaire money when losing money will speak to him more. Not much a fan can do except voice their displeasure by booing relentlessly.
Then he'll have a good day and the fans will start cheering him again. Who else on the team can play right field? So Springer can move to center
I think both re correct... Pineda had been getting hit hard this season, but he was effective both against our .200 hitters and our better hitters last night.
