Why would McHale come back to the franchise that spurned him, only to take a lesser role?

Ok. You want a serious answer. I guess. So here goes. McHale, like everyone else, is human. He came here, did his job and got fired after 11 games into a season that immediately followed making the final four. Yea, fine he walked away with millions. But the rockets essentially told him he is an idiot for allowing the team to go 4-7 and didn't give him time to fix it. We now know it could not be fixed.

Lets say the rox actually wanted him back. Do you honestly think Kevin McHale would crap all over his dignity and come back here after the way the rockets treated him? Would you? So the answer. No, I don't think it is a good idea. That bridge is burned and the ashes swept away.

 

Plus we already have Hakeem
