Enough people trashed my 3rd year Rondo pick, so I'm dropping him for a better player. 19 ppg / 10 assists / 3 boards / 2 steals Don't get mad, get sleepy.
My final team, unless someone makes me an offer that I can't refuse g Chauncey Billups g Brandon Roy f Ron Artest f Antonio McDyess c Patrick Ewing bench 6th - Adrian Dantley g Mark Jackson g Eddie Jones f Danny Granger f David West I have one troubled soul in Ron Artest and 3 great leaders to keep him in line, Chauncey Billups, Patrick Ewing, Mark Jackson. I think with Ewing, Chauncey, Billups, West, Granger, Artest, Marc Jackson, Brandon Roy, this is a mentally and physically tough team with a lot of swagger. Antonio McDyess was a physical player as well, a good physical defender who was also one of the best athletes at PF/C positions of all time. Amar'e / Shawn Kemp level of an athlete. He will feast in pick and rolls off Brandon Roy's and Billups passes. Patrick Ewing in his prime in late 80s/early 90s was pretty athletic as well and averaged 4 blocks at his peak. Between him and McDyess, we might have 6+ block a game. Good luck scoring inside on a frontcourt of Ron Artest / McDyess / Ewing! McDyess is also my backup center, where he will crush rims off Mark Jackson's assists. Mark Jackson played with a young McDyess at one point and lead the league in assists at the time, 12 a game. And off the bench we'll unleash Adrian Dantley, a tough shooting guard with a penetration and post up game, two time NBA scoring leader. Even the Rockets' Hakeem/Sampson twin towers couldn't stop him from scoring inside in the playoffs. He led the Jazz to an upset over higher seeded Rockets in 1985.
There are still really good role players like Jason Richardson, Jalen Rose, Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson. Would be a good 3rd stringer for my team, but we only get 10 spots Also how good were Nate McMillan and Byron Scott at the 1?
Why did nobody pick this guy? I was considering him for defensive purposes. Sidenote--I'm just now learning how to post photos. If anybody knows how to adjust size let me know.
Byron Scott could defend point guards, but he's not a point guard, more like an Eric Gordon type (before injuries). Good shooter, athletic, could pass. He was high on my list, i considered him strongly with the Eddie Jones pick. Nate McMillan, i don't remember him too well, tbh.
Thought about dropping Monta for Byron Scott or Nate McMillan... since they seem like big names, but not sure how they play. Also with the star players available at the 2, don't think Mario Elie would do much better as a role player.
Scott was much more well rounded than Monta, good defender, good shooter. He was tasked with defending guys like Isiah Thomas, and in general a good hustle team defender. Monta better at making plays for himself, a more dynamic scorer. Scott is more something in between Eric Gordon and Rip Hamilton, athletic, good finisher in transition. He could handle and pass, but in halfcourt he spent most time spotting up or running in circles trying to open up for shots like Rip. He was the leading scorer on a championship team in 1988, another similarity to Rip.

My star player and leader is Chris paul. Has averaged 22 point 11 assists 3 steals in the league. One of the premier point guards of this generation. Regarded already as an all time great point guard. Lightening quick and impossible to stay in front of. When paired with atheltic bigs or wings can cause problems in pick and roll. Has good shooting range so players can not go under picks. With Grant Hill and Marcus Camby playing above the rim Chris will excel. Also having floor spacers in Detlef and Mitch hitting 3s will help him with lanes to the basket. Even though he is smaller than some point guards his length helps him anticipate and play passing lanes to get alot of steals. Grant Hill the mini lebron. Has averaged over 20 points 7 assits and 6 rebounds in a season. Also likely the second best slasher in this draft after clyde maybe nique is close too. Atheltic and long can defend 1 through 4s in this draft. Mitch Richmond will have plenty of wide open 3s with Cp3 running the point and is a strong defender. Detlef averaged 19 points 6 assists and 10 rebounds a season in the league. Having 3 guys that averaged more than 6 assits will help the ball movement be spurs esque. Floor spacing 4 with good rebounder and above average defense. Does have a post game and can pass out of the post. Camby will be sending back shots like nobodies business averaged 3.5 blocks for multiple seasons. Also Cp3 will use him like deandre jordan in pick and roll and alley oops. I think since all the great centers had mvps Camby will flourish in this draft with my run and gun team. My bench has the one of the best scorers in league history in Gilbert arenas. At 6'4 he can play the 2 next to CP3 and also averaged over 29 points one season. 3 point assassin off the dribble was spectacular. Luol Deng and Richard Jeffersons Length can play small ball or beef up the 2 spot if teams go big.
By the way id be ok with parting grant hill if it means getting an upgrade at power forward. So Jontro i know you have a center vbg needs one lets make a trade babes....
Okay fine, you make so much noise. I'm interested in a Chris Paul for Fat Lever. Don't let the incomprehensible versions of test fool you.
I like this change ok but I don't know if it really changes your team that much. They're both star players but Rondo was better defensively whereas Sleepy was better offensively. For me the only semi-weakness on your team is with Elvin Hayes--you got the 35-year old version that averaged 17 and 9. Not bad but he was aging a little bit at that point compared to what he used to be.
I'll be honest, I'm not surprised. Sometimes you have to treat a douche like a full douche bag. It sucks, but the force this ideal upon themselves withouth actually mattering
