When the Rockets are away, do they have dinner together or are they all on their own and are just required to be at the arena at a certain time?

What about home games? Do they fend for themselves then meet at the Summit for the game?

Do they have a per diem?

I don't really have a reason for asking, I'm just looking for insight on our team.

    thanks

From what I understand, they are basically on their own no matter where they are. The do have very nice per diem's for on the road.

As far as eating together, I imagine they do that more on the road than at home. I know that many Rockets have very specific routines for eating. Mario Elie used to always have the same meal before home games at Geoge's Pasteria on Westheimer.

According to Chucky Brown, the NBA per diem is $80. And players often eat at the Red Lobster.

In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

I know that they like to go to a certain restaurant very close to the arena after games together for a meal. I wont post the restaurant name...to maybe protect a little shred of their privacy. Dunno about before games...you know my ma always said to wait 30 minutes before physical activity after a meal.

I have no shred of decency, so a bunch of them used to hang out at the Bennigan's over on Kirby & 59. I once got to meet Horry, Terry Teagle, and Adrian Caldwell there. Needless to say, anyone worthwhile was probably at the Men's Club or something. [IMG]

I dunno about the Rockets themselves, but someone's been telling the opposing team that a good place to dine is the Cheesecake Factory. Go figure.

I've seen a couple of them at Maxeen's or what ever it's called...is it still there? A buddy of mine and I used to go there a lot after the games...you have to have a membership or something...sweet shack...serve your food on silver plates and everything???? The bananas foster is great!

I have been told that sometimes there is a pre/post-game vegitarian buffet spread (Les and his wife are vegitarians--animals have rights too!).

I have seen Mario mowing on Prince's Fried Shrimp before a game!
