One gs after a comfortable lead and Hinch gives him another week of play. Consistency or don't play. If he wasn't getting his 9-10 mill a year, Gomez wouldn't play.

They platoon Reed vs lefties so no chance he'd get in against a lefty specialist, and Worth is even worse than Gomez.

But yeah...I don't like him jumping on the first pitch...seriously, the guy just issued a 4 pitch walk and you have the bases loaded. Gotta be patient, such low IQ by Gomez there

Until they bring up Bregman, and even then, it's not like you have much better options to play CF. Rasmus can play CF, but it's not like he's tearing it up.

Or he expected a fast ball right down the middle for the pitcher to get a feel of the strike zone again... Regardless... It sucked.

Once Gurriel and Bregman are both up then yeah, Gomez's playing time should be severely cut.

What does Hinch have against using Devenski in these situations?

Statistically there were no great options for Hinch to pinch hit for Gomez. Aside from all three guys on bench being terrible in their own right at the moment, im not sure about defensive switches after Gomez is out of CF. Gomez hitting 6th should be remedied by the arrival of Bregman and Gurriel.

And yet Hinch decided to throw Keuchel out there when his pitch count was already nearing 100

it's fine to do it in any other situation, but with bases loaded and 2 outs, the pressure is all on the pitcher. thus, i would've preferred him to be patient. he's not crushing the ball either so it gives him even less of a reason to do it.

also, lol josh reddick's walk-out song. john cena, seriously?

    man what a miserable loss
