Its random but there is a secret to make it not random. Before evolving, change the name of the eevee to Rainer, Sparky, or Pyro.

    explained here

You evolve them with the candy you get for each pokemon of the same species. For example, you receive a certain amount of Pidgey candy for each Pidgey you catch. Around 3-5 pidgeys amount to enough candy to evolve one Pidgey.

I've been evolving for the fat xp gain. Maybe not the best use of resources but meh.

no they are definitely in the area if they are on the tracker, but they always show as 3 footprints so you can't track them

Caught a Growlithe this morning on my way to work at the stop light before the freeway. It was pretty exciting as he was cp 45x (I don't remember the exact level). Finally evolved my psyduck into a Golduck. Waiting to capture one more Bellsprout and Oddish so I can evolve them into their 2nd level evolution. I'll be honest, I am loosing interest in the game, but I'm still playing it.

not really. if you're active you shouldn't have much of a problem leveling up at a decent rate. if you're just sitting around just trying to catch in your everyday surroundings that may not be ideal spots then yeah its going to take you forever.

pros and cons. yeah you get the xp gain but even with the evolving your pokemons are still extremely weak and you have to work to gain back all those resources. Either way its all in what you're trying to do individually

Yeah, I don't really get much opportunity to go on long hunts (pretty much just Friday mornings) so I catch a little here and there.

Not always true. For the most part they are, but sometimes rare Pokemon that have timed out will remain on your tracker and you'll just go around in circles.

I'm level 25 and I'm starting to get bored. It's getting pretty repetitive and it's only been 2 weeks. Not to mention the constant crappy servers being offline every 30 minutes. They need to add new features before they lose more players.

I started seeing rare Pokemon around level 13.

    400-500+ CP at Level 10+.

I'm level 12 right now, and the highest pokemon I've caught has been a 350+ eevee. Not sure, but I think I need to go to different places. I went fishing this weekend and opened the game, but ran out of pokeballs (saw a Vulpix I couldn't catch, so just shut it all down). I run through pokebals pretty quickly, so need to make a new path with more pokestops to walk down.

I feel the same way, and I'm level 19.

Played all this time and I've never gotten a 10km egg. I feel jipped.
