On Snapchat filter: "Look at that! Going zero mph again! Fun app!" I may still be talking from ignorance here, not having used the app (still!), but it seems to me the obvious application is to show off what a scofflaw you are. Maybe it's useful for when you're hang-gliding or something, but the alternative for most people will be to show how fast you're running or moving while in the passenger seat, neither of which are very compelling. I don't think a disclaimer gets the company off the hook. Waze is a bit different because you can look at Waze while stationary, then put the phone away and drive. With the Snapchat filter, you can't take a picture of yourself going 100 mph, unless you do it while going 100 mph.

On Pokemon Go: Yeah, all the press seems to be about people being dumb and getting hurt. It seems a little less of an obvious hazard and maybe the makers didn't realize people would use it this way. They might want to do something now that they know to prevent users from doing some of the more dangerous things.

I think I responded in April: 100% the driver's fault, plus 100% negligence on the part of Snapchat. People (primarily conservatives, honestly) think of these things as zero-sum. Like we're making excuses for people when we ask for accountability from everyone.

apologies to Falcons Talon - I just noticed in a later post where he said he was joking.

My sarcasm meter must have been broken yesterday.
