I don't have a pre-existing Pokemon attachment, and enjoy the very cool premise. Not a music guy so the random buzzing of phone breaks up the monotony of walking. I don't know what it is about the gameplay, but it has become very addictive. I like the non-linear gameplay.

This is due to the popularity of the Pokemon, but have talked to a bunch of people I normally wouldn't talk. Also, Friday and Saturday nights my wife and I ran into old friends while playing (figuratively) and had dinner with them while we all stocked up on the nearby pokestops. People playing Pokemon Go seem happier to me and I like seeing people happy.

I downloaded the app when it first came out and stayed around level 1-2 until yesterday. Yesterday was the first time I went with the GF and other friends to the park to try it out. I'll have to say I've never seen a park with so many people walking around except for central park in NYC. It was a very diverse crowd of people playing.

I can see the appeal to it now and gives you something to do while walking around.

I have only met actual psychopaths who I couldn't by saying I was about to walk to a landmark a mile away from our current location.

Oh one question. Transferred all my pokemon for candy do I still keep the candy or I lose it?

I.E. Traded all the magikarp for 45 candies total. I have no more magikarps, did I lose all the candies and I should of kept one magikarp?

Think you still have the candy. It'll show up the next time you catch a magikarp.

you should be keeping the strongest pokemon when you transfer the same ones for candy. So I would say yes keep one

    Sigh.

When police departments have to issue guidelines for safety on these games, we have reached a point of no return in regard to the stupidity of our species. People walking off cliffs, into traffic, etc...

Good luck with the Gyarados. It takes like 100 magikarp to get the 400 candies it needs to evolve.

one thing I don't have is a sense of the CP range for a monster

like if it's in the bottom 10 percentile of what's possible, I don't want to waste candies powering it up

I probably would avoid upgrading anything not in the top 25%.

Unless you are over level 20 and trying to defeat a gym, it might not be worth Evolving any Pokemon that need 50 candies. I wouldn't power up anything even if trying to defeat a gym right now.

Went to a team Mystic meet up. Very good showing. We all met up at a card/gaming shop which happened to be a poke gym too. Then we went to The Goodnight (a pokestop) and closed it off as a private event for us. Whole place was full of Mystics.

social events, people walking and the parks being filled? That sounds even dumber than hammer pants and crystal pepsi.
