Does anybody do this? I just got my first water infusion 32 oz bottle. I'm looking for tips and tricks. I put some fruit in there and shook for a while. The result was a slight aftertaste of flavor. I guess I was expecting kool aid. lol...needs sugar!

What are the best fruits to use? Is the general rule the longer you marinate the water in the fruit...the more flavor? Is the trick to let it sit overnight for more flavor? Shaking the hell out of it does some good.

Surely, there are some infusion junkies on here with their own recipes. What are you doing with it?

Cucumber water is the bomb. Add a little lime, sugar, vodka if you are so inclined.

Was going to say Cucumber and Lime too. Never thought about adding sugar though. How much are you adding? Vodka I considered but haven't tried yet.

When I'm making a pitcher I'll pour in a sploosh of agave nectar, it depends on the cucumbers though, some are a bit more bitter than others.

I buy frozen fruit and mash it up in a mini mortar/pestle or use bowl and spoon or whatever you have. You can also chop up the fruit really finely. However you do it, the point is to create more surface area for the water to hit to extract the flavor in reasonable time. Distilled water helps the process faster from what i gather.
