I first heard of this stuff in about 96 from my friend in California who swore by it. I didn't think much more of it until I saw Monica's boyfriend join it on the show friends. Then it just seemed to take off in the last few years. Should have seen it coming. good sell. It feels like it's at a peak, almost overtaking hockey and soccer, and possibly even baseball.
It's nearly the same level as the NFL and NBA but those are team sports leagues/organizations. The UFC is currently the #1 best individual sport over the PGA, NASCAR, F-1, Tennis, etc.
Sounds like you should just go watch Boxing or some Glory Kickboxing if that's what you want and you have an issue with the wrestling aspect of MMA.
