Does this current team remind anyone of the 2014-15 Mavs before the Rondo trade?

No, no - Cuban made that deal because he believed that Rondo would make them better. Rondo then came in, refused to follow Carlisle's coaching (he decided he knew more about running an offense than the head coach) and it went downhill from there. Cost them this year's 1st round draft pick. Perfect!

I loved watching them unravel with Rondo in the Rockets-Mavs playoff series.

    It was fantastic.

I have to say that as against getting MDA as I was, I'd still have more faith in his ideology than McHale (and certainly more than JBB). MDA has a distinct system with organization and an ultimate goal.....now whether that system is suited to win in the NBA is a different debate.

Maybe. This team reminds me of a lotto bound team.

I might get flamed for this, given all the negativity in this forum..... but we have a lot more talent then that 2014-15 Mav's team..

Starting off with James Harden, the disparity between James and Monta is immense. The only remote comparison Monta has to Harden is that he's a (streaky) scorer and he struggles on defense, but that's where comparisons end. I also don't think there's that big a difference between Dirk and Anderson, specially at Dirk's age. I would argue, on the offensive end, that Anderson is more mobile and has a more diverse game then the current version of Dirk.

That Dallas 14-15 team had no superstar player (dirk isn't a superstar anymore), and they had no strong defensive player in the starting linup outside of Tyson Chandler. The Rockets on the other hand have three notable defensive players (when engaged) in the projected starting lineup in Beverley, Ariza and Capela. We also have a stronger bench, specially if we resign D-Mo.

    Bench Comparison
    Prigioni/ Gordon/ Beasley/ D-Mo*/ Nene vs Felton/ Harris/ Jefferson/ Aminu/ Stoudemire
