Eric Gordon is an injured prone. Is better for him to come off the bench and avoid 30+ minutes so he won't get injured.

The intent seems pretty obvious to me...they are planning to keep the ball in Harden's hands. That rules out a floor general like Rubio.

Why is everyone so shocked? I'd imagine his role will be exactly the same, regardless of whether or not he starts.

People got all worked up about #PointBeard or something not realizing this doesn't change Hardens role at all.

Harden initiates the offense whether you label him PG or SG.

This is probably why he's disliked around the NBA. He talks at times as if he's the coach of the team. But when things go bad he refers to Les or the current coach. Make up your damn mind Morey

Gordon, Beasley, Nene, Dmo is a solid group off the bench to rack up some points.

It's almost like some people here want our players to get injured just so they can say "I TOLD YOU!" Yes we know some of the players we've acquired have dealt with injuries in the past. Trying to predict when they'll be injured is just being a crappy fan.

I'm sure Morey is letting coach coach and is being the GM and talking to the media about what coach is looking at. Could change with trade.

Most important part to me is the bolded part. After a couple of years of having subpar shooting guys on the floor (Brewer, I'm looking at you), it looks like Rockets are going to try to keep as many shooters on the floor as possible around Clint and Nene.

Coach's job is to coach. I'd rather coach be coaching than talking with media, worrying about interview skills, etc.

    Very simple

Morey likes to talk. Let him waste his own time instead of the coach's time.

This isn't true at all. Morey has never deflected and if anything is overly praising of the head coach and the owner. Just because you don't read it on clutchfans doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Morey would routinely do radio spots on 790 where he would praise Kevin McHale and he has regularly taken "blame" on himself. I actually can't remember a time where he deflected blame to the coach or to the owner.

Not a big fan of D'Antoni. But I'm pretty sure he can teach Morey a lesson or two about interview skills.

"Daryl, let's refrain from using the word 'assets' to describe Harden's teammates, this year. OK? And let me take first crack at the words 'starter' and 'super sub, too, while I'm trying to build chemistry and group identity."

Whether he MDA can teach Morey about interview skills is besides the point. Media is going to go looking for quotes. Rockets make money on being entertaining and need to feed media quotes as part of their marketing. Much rather GM waste his time giving quotes to limit time coaches talk to media considering coaches tend not to have enough time as is.

The rockets remind me of the texans the way they disregard the pg position.

    Also,
drafting defensive linemen and switching them to OLBs = drafting undersized PFs
