You never hear about this because he's A CUTE LOVABLE CUBBIE (puke)

I caught that right when Lowe did it. Yeah, it was pretty WWF, but it was spur-of-the-moment. I had a hard time discerning which dugout he was motioning to because I believe it was the same dugout where the visored idiot was talking mess to Ortiz et al during the 7th - and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why Red Sox would be over by the Oakland dugout during the time Damon was being tended to. After the 293478th replay I put it all together then had a beer.

As an A's fan, I have to agree that the last thing the A's should be complaining about is the behavior of other players. They did this last year with AJ Pierzynski. Its not so much an excuse but a deflection of accountability for not coming through again.

Understand that baseball is much more of a sensitive sport than basketball or football. Simply taking too much time on a home run trot incites bad feelings. Seriously, if Derek Lowe pulled a Mario Elie and did the "kiss of death," you might see the A's throwing their bats at him. Now it may not bother you or me but that's the culture of baseball and ballplayers expect their peers to respect that. IMO, the A's shouldn't be making as big a deal out of this but that does not mean Lowe or Manny's actions are justifiable, even if it was out of emotion.

I think it's gay, but I don't think it's "offensive" because I could care less about the unwritten rules of baseball. But since Sammy is supposedly one MLB's "good guys" it goes unmentioned.

Which would be 110% asinine on the A's part. Worrying about being "showed up" more than winning a crucial Game 5, to get an 800-pound gorilla of their back.

If the A's threw at Manny, that would only be in Bos's favor, in that Bos got into the A's head. The A's have a very fragile psyche in the playoffs to begin with, throwing at Manny and getting into a beaning war, would only screw with the A's fragile minds even more.

Agreed 100%. It's just the losers who get so emotional and pissy about it. It's really a non-issue to the team that wins.

    Lesson to be learned? WIN.

The officer has the choke hold all wrong. The right hand should be placed on the left biceps and the left hand should be placed on the back of the subject's head, while simultaneously pressing down on the head. This is what is referred to as the 'naked-choke' in submission fighting. It is a devastating maneuver.

Actually the Rider Choke, the choke the cop is employing, is the second most sought after choke in real life fighting, after the Guillotine. The Naked Choke, which is the true Sleeper Hold, can only be utilized in a fight that bars biting because the lower mandible can get underneath the right arm grabbing the left bicep. Law enforcement are not instructed to use this choke.
